Let's go!
uh huh....
Sure if the guys want to go over to the Women's tour, that's on them.
I wouldn't WANT to be them, and certainly they'd take their share of criticism, but I don't have a problem with it.
You will see here in a couple years when Michelle Wie earns her PGA card and ends up playing full time with the men.
PS - I can't wait to hear the screaming on FR from the women haters (not intended to be pointed too you but to others) when that happens. It will be classic.
No jump this time for Phil
I can't understand why you are so MAD, ANGRY and INSULTING on a GOLF THREAD??? Sheesh..good bye.
MASTER'S WINNING PURSE is likely to be well over $1Million this year. Last year was $1,008,000...
IT IS DONE~ Phil Mickelson, BACK TO BACK!
If she earns it...great.
you say that now....
Knowing your history, you will be screaming and crying about how she's taking a spot of a man and blah blah blah....
Either that or you'll say she's on roids or something similiarly stupid.
Ends it with a bogey...but a dominant performance by Lefty.
Dang ... I was enjoying the finish until I clicked this thread. :(
Not back to back...there's a Tiger in between Phil's wins. They take turns putting the green jacket on each other.
You think I'd complain about looking at Wie???? .....when she's 18 of course.
it was a great tournament...but it wasn't back to back for Phil...a Tiger was in the middle! :o)
Oh yeah..DUR!! Well he won last week right? The two drivers must be the KEY!
Short thread, but fun anyway...steroids my eye!
REGRIP~~~
I don't have a problem with it either, but the PGA won't let it happen because there's only about two or three girls that can play with the boys--and I mean any boys--the worst women's golfer on tour is way worse than the worst men's.
So what would happen is that you wouldn't have a girls tour any longer; you'd have PGA Tour A and PGA Tour B--which is why the girls should stay on their own tour and the boys should stay on theirs.
No.
I think that if the girl is good enough, she should get a chance to play. Similarly if the guy wants to play on shorter courses against the women, that's fine too. That won't happen.
And believe me if she earns her Tour Card, the PGA won't stop her. They'd be insane too.
And I think she will too.
And I still can't wait to hear the screaming on FR. It'll be a fun day.
yes I do.
I think that if she won a tournament or was friends with Tiger, you'd start insinuating that he has her on roids too or something else like that.
Interesting possibility, certainly, but I don't see it happening, realistically. Annika Sorenstam's performance in a men's tournament illustrated the difference physique makes over the same distances -- and a woman who can consistently do well against other women would be silly to trade the paychecks for a chance to lose most of the time competing with men.
No no, I mean that it won't happen that the PGA will let the men play on the women's tour.
As far as Wie earning her card, I have my doubts. She'd have to go through Q-school, and from what I've seen of her game, she's not there. Maybe in a few years--but she's not there now, and I'm not even sure it would be close.
A fine point.
She's only 16 and in contention just about every tournament she's in now.
Just wait until she makes the CUT at a men's tournament.
Then it will be on.
She will give it a go. I have no doubts about that.
I hadn't kept up ... we stopped getting "Golf Digest" when my husband got into running, and now we get three running magazines :-).
I've often thought that golf was an ideal choice for a sport where men and women could compete on equal terms; Annika's performance was disappointing to me. If Michelle Wie proves to be competitive with men, I'll be pleased to see it, and look forward to more women as straight-up competitors.
