It's about time they start killing the sea lions and the seals. The blame for salmon shortages has always been laid on fisherman when the truth is that predators are the biggest reason for the salmon decline.

The problem that often gets ignored is where the feds are closing down legal fishing after decades of families providing for themselves and their communities.

The feds should manage the sea lions ( or coyotes, mountain lions, bears, etc...) in a scientific way.

A reasonable balance can be achieved...but then PETA, ALF, ELF, and their lawyers show up with their hands out.

Sell them to China; they;ll eat anything, if you tell them it acts as an asphrodesiac.

Might as well both maximize profits, and encourage poaching.

reasoning, the problem (if you read the article) is the dam. fixing the problem before killing large mammals seems to make sense

"hannibal lector and a few unsavory other folks might agree with you"

According to most replies on this thread, I belive that most folks here agree with me. You can call us hannibal lector and unsavory, but that really doesn't benefit your position, whatever it is.

Hard and fast rule , I don't shoot at S.E.A.L.'s and they don't shoot at me !, Albeit an informal agreement........:o)

I did put in for a bison hunt in Montana this time .......Planned rig for that is a 45-70 Ruger Number 1, stainless. A favorite rifle of mine these days. Very accurate and am pleased with it's 2 year record on Elk and Mulies using Garretts hammerheads. Chances are slim to none I'll get a draw. But hey I am ready !

Stay safe !

The baby Moose, the baby deer, and the baby elk get killed in huge numbers by wolves, bears, coyotes, and mountain lions.

There are many reports, not just my opinion.

We need scienfic decisions made by scientists.

Now we have emotional lawyers and judges with little to no scientific education nor life experiences making scientific decisions.

Not only that, we have judges who interpret law in preserving wildlife. They have extended their realm of authority well beyond the scope of the rule of law. Since when is animal and fish a constitutional issue? It's not and they should keep their noses out of it. However, they have an agenda and they use the bench to advance it.

Sea Lions would make a nice coat... but Im still hoping for a salmon coat. Now what will these wacko leftist gutter rats say dont kill the sea lions or dont kill the salmon... poor scumbags they will have to choose one.

I say shoot the sea lions and net the salmon.

I believe sea lions hanging around the dam is a fairly new situation. Bonneville dam is many many miles upriver from the ocean...

What the emotional lawyers and judges from the Sierra Club, etc. do next is very interesting.

They next get the historical grazing allotments "vacated" in rural areas. The family farmers and ranchers must use summer grazing ranges for their cattle and other live stock.

This allows the valley areas a rest from grazing and allows the rancher to grow food for fall harvesting for winter feed.

Lose the allotments and then they go bankrupt.

Then Ted Turner and friends buy the bankrupt family farm cheap. Finally, Ted builds an eco-lodge on the land and charges big money for the Liberal Hollywood crowd to rent "sanctuary."

I know. I live in Vancouver, WA; about one hour from Bonneville.
