Father: Injuries were telling
News and Observer ^ | 04/05 | Khanna

"The woman told her father that she had been dancing at a party and that someone had hit her.

It wasn't until the next day the woman told her father she had been raped, he said."

TOPICS:
KEYWORDS: dancer; duke; durham; lacrosse; rape
In this article: http://www.newsobserver.com/1185/story/426021.html We find out that it took the Accuser 31 hours to be able to provide details of what happened.

The Father of the accused said she stopped by his house around 8:00 am, the morning after the incident. He said, she dropped off her car and left with a boyfriend. He also said (look at the timing) she "told him that she had been dancing at a party and that someone had hit her."

That's very interesting. I wonder if there's a lot of truth in that statement.

A day out with her boyfriend and the next day she tells her Father she was raped. Shortly thereafter, she is able to provide details for the first time. However, there are NO reports of a concussion. She was at Duke Hospital and they released her after 3-4 hours, and the reasonable cause nor the DA has said anything about a concussion on anything remotely related.

Hmmm.

This could go either way - some rape victims never tell their families at all, some do it right away and sometimes it takes time or coaxing.

Well, how many take 31 hours to remember and are driven 2.5 miles to ask a security guard at a supermarket to call 911.

The 2nd dancer had a cell phone but drove and asked the security guard to call. Where they looking for corroboration?

It could go either way - they could be lying - she could have been doing prostitution or something else that made it dangerous to go to the police or she could have been talked into reporting it.

Sometimes women really dont want to go through everything involved with reporting a rape and it takes a while to make up their minds... I cant tell from the available information.

Did we read the same article? She went to the hospital the morning after the attack and waited until she was released to tell her father what happened.

And btw- the headline for this story is "Father: Injuries were telling He says he felt 'numb, angry'"

NOT "Victim waited 31 hours to remember details".

Talk about spin.

Read again. She told her father about the alleged rape the day after she was released.

That's not what this says: "early on the morning of March 14, he went to Duke Hospital with his son and waited more than two hours to see his daughter. Doctors wouldn't say why she was there, he said. The father went home and waited for word from his daughter. Later that morning, she came to her parents' house with her boyfriend. "After she came home, that's when I knew she had been beaten up," her father said.

OKAY, here (link above) her father says:

"(She) didn't tell us anything about it," he said.

In his first two interviews, he doesn't say anything about her being swollen or beaten up.

There is a second URL in my comments (top of post) and that URL has the info on her not being able to provide ANY details for 31 hours.

This is that URL:
http://www.newsobserver.com/1185/story/426021.html

That's where the 31 hours comes in.

Shades of the Kobe Bryant non-rape.

The FATHER CLEARLY SAYS:

"The woman told her father that she had been dancing at a party and that someone had hit her."

Okay, the Father didn't see her in the hospital. Didn't talk to her. I know from Rita Cosby's show the first time he saw her was later that morning when she came to his house. She left her car there and left with a boyfriend. She was only in the hospital for 4-5 hours or so. He sees her the morning after or same day (it was after midnight).

"It wasn't until the next day the woman told her father she had been raped, he said."

Take the two statements TOGETHER.

QUOTE
The father of the woman who said she was raped at a party near the Duke University campus said in an interview Tuesday that when he saw her the day after the party, .....
The woman told her father that she had been dancing at a party and that someone had hit her. It wasn't until the next day the woman told her father she had been raped, he said
ENDQUOTE

When he saw her the day AFTER the Party..the woman told her Father That she had been dancign at a PARTY AND SOMEONE HIT HER. IT WASN'T UNTIL THE NEXT DAY (2nd day)... told her Father she had been raped.

I noticed all your posts on this board pertain specifically to this case. You wouldn't happen to have a dog in this fight, would you?

Third paragraph:

The woman told her father that she had been dancing at a party and that someone had hit her. It wasn't until the next day the woman told her father she had been raped, he said.
