ATLANTA -- Comedy Central's "South Park" won its first Peabody Award on Wednesday, winning praise from judges as TV's boldest, most politically incorrect satirical series.
"South Park" was praised as a show that "pushes all the buttons, turns up the heat and shatters every taboo," Peabody Awards Director Horace Newcomb said. "Through that process of offending it reminds us of the need for being tolerant."

I think people needs to lighten up a bit. Both on the left and on the right. I think that is why South Park is popular.. People are tired of busybodies....

Yeah.
That's what makes me like South Park.
If it pisses people off, I love it, ESPECIALLY when it's people on EITHER side of whichever issue they are skewering this week.

The British Broadcast Corp. received four Peabodys, (one for a) ...dramatization of Charles Dickens' "Bleak House." The BBC Four series is due to end in late 2037.

ARRESTEDDEVELOPMENT
When I saw this I thought my second favorite show won a Peabody too. Sadly I don't think anything can save Arrested Development now. Oh well, at least I can be happy about South Park winning.

Yup. They took on Islam and took a shot at Comedy Central for pulling that Scientology episode. And it's a two-parter!
