Dear Mr. Robinson and Fellow Freepers,
Moderating for FR may indeed be a "thankless" job, and in general I appreciate the job they've done over the years, but...
In recent days I have been suspended twice -- once for posting to a certain well-known Freeper who has obviously been given preferential treatment by FR's Moderators; another for supposedly mentioning that same "elite" Freeper in posts to others.
I'm not the only one this particular complaining Freeper has demanded he NOT be posted to -- though he often posts long rambling controversial rants and vanities about which he expects and savors contentious dissent and battles.
Even when this elite poster's "demands" of not being posted to directly were aquiesced, I was admonished and suspended by a certain Moderator for the nebulous and relative term "personal attacks" -- something this particular poster often engages others in...WITH IMPUNITY. Moreover, the admonishments received from these specific Mods were not only unnecessarily personal, but condescending in tone as well.
I'm no angel at times, but certainly have never squawked to the Mods for "protection." Any attempt at requesting an answer from FR's Moderator for an explanation of policies fell on deaf ears.
If we must walk on eggshells at Free Republic to avoid "offending" favored Freepers or their status as a "protected class," or subject matter that opposes President Bush's policies, then this website is diametrically opposed to what it supposedly espouses -- the tenets of conservatism.
This kind of over-officiousness, arrogance, and selective censorship by FR's Moderators and overt elitism is unacceptable....
Perhaps their selective admonishments have something to do with Freepers who have open disagreements with those who refer to themselves as "Bush-Bots." OR my passionate opposition over the President's immigration policies. However it IS clear some of Free Republic's Moderators over-zealously use their authority to ZOT, delete, suspend, or ban to the detriment of the open exchange of the freedom to express opinion at FR.

I want to thank the many, many Freepers for their prayers, encouragement and well-wishes back in October for my regaining my health -- God bless you all -- I'll never forget you; the sage wisdom and advice of Freepers and friends over the years; the intelligence, integrity, courage and love for our Republic; the exchange of ideas; and of course the one-of-a-kind humor.
Again, it was an honor to participate and bond with you all -- even those with whom I've disagreed. Good luck, and keep up the vociferous fight for THE truth and the conservatism of our Founders without compromise.
Farewell, FRiends...
You'll be back. They all come back...
ok...
Is that a list of favored Freepers?
Guess there'll be a bunch of folks clicking the "In Forum" link just to try to figure it all out.
What happened? I was in the shower...
Good-bye PING
An opus! An opus!

Sorry to see you go.
7.0. Not a badly written opus at all, but a tad boring because it lacks the melodrama, the sense of standing alone against the cosmos which makes the classic opus hum and purr.
Don't leave F16!
"Sorry to see you go."
