A 9-week-old kitten in El Cajon, Calif., is expected to win a place in the record books as the smallest cat in the world, according to a Local 6 News report.

Heed the cat is only 3-inches tall and weighs in at just 1.2 pounds, the report said.

Once Heed is full-sized in about six months, veterinarians believe he will become the new smallest cat in the world. Heed's owner has already contacted the Guinness Book Of World Records. Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.

My family member has a Maine Coon who does that also, the cat climbs the screen, grabs the door handle kicks the door frame to open the door, then swings on the handle and tosses herself outside.

The first day I was there they told me to keep the front door closed to keep the cat in, so I left the screen door closed. I was standing outside and watched a cat fly out the door from 3 feet it the air, to screams of "who left the door open?!". Luckily the cat only eats cat food so she came back in a few hours.

Does your Coon do something similarly amazing?

Is that the cat? He doesn't look that small, that looks like an 8 1/2 11 piece of paper. I've had kittens I could hold completely in the palm of my hand.

I love black and white cats.

I am not all that amazed, either. He has a half a year yet to grow. We shall see. I like black & white cats. I call them Sylvester cats.

Not quite, thankfully. He just gets up on his hind legs and pulls down on the door handle if he wants to get into a particular room. Since he's leaning on the door at the time, the door opens from his weight as he pushes against it.

Local Cat Could Be World's Fattest

A Smyrna house cat is fatter than the one you may have seen last week on Channel 2 Action News contending for the title of World’s Largest Cat. The St. Joseph, Missouri cat named “Piggy” is living up to its name at more than 40 pounds. But a Tabby named “Sam” in Smyrna, weighs in at 45 pounds!

What a contrast!

I love Maine Coons. I've never been owned by one myself but have known a few through friends. Their feeble "meows" are almost comical coming from such a big cat. It's more like a "peep". They are indeed quite gentle, friendly and smart. And they're BIG. I like BIG! I hope to get one some day, but first I have to talk it over with my two female muttcats who are quite content having it just being the three of us. :-)

He would never eat the last of his food always pulling some object over the unfinished meal. Lucky loved the rain and to play in the sprinklers also.

They chirp sort of like cheetahs.

No 'MSM death' alert. "Expected to" and "may be" is hardly news, maybe wishful thinking.
