I don't think the album has gone on sale yet. My prediction is the media will run some news stories painting the Chicks as victims, and Sony will buy some mega-commercial time on TBS, TNT, the housewife channels, etc. "In Stores Now!"
I think there is a chance their album could debut at #1. But I don't see it in the top 10 after 4 weeks. Or in the top 40 after 8.
But they will not see the success of 'Wide Open Space' (12 million copies) or 'Fly' (10 million copies) ever again. The way 'Home', their third album, plummeted off the charts after Natalie made her comment is a sure sign of that.
I was referring to the airplay of the song.
Its flopping.
With that said, let me leave you with this little nugget.
"We dont need any airplay to sell 2 or 3 million albums" Emily Robison in 2003.
Since making the satement they released a live greatest hits package called Top Of The World. Its been out since 11/2004 and has yet to sell a million copies. In cpmparison, Garth Brooks live GH album, has sold 20 million copies. :)
