Who are the so called judges?
I'm inclined to agree with you, but I'm coming up blank trying to think of a better one.
Almost all of Page's solos have memorable moments, but the Stairway solo looked at as a complete musical statement is hard to top. It builds, it resolves, it has distinct sections, and all of his phrases are meaningful, well-placed, and move the "plot" forward.
My other favorite Zep solos would the ones on I'm Gonna Crawl, Since I've Been Loving You, and No Quarter. Fool in the Rain also has a good and underappreciated solo.
I agree. I like the list of bands but off the top of my head I can think of better Guitar solos from other songs of these bands.
