Chris is good at what he does and may make the top 3, but I seriously doubt he'll win. I think his difficulties increase as contestants drop out. His appeal is very narrow, and I'd wager the votes from the leaving contestants will go to just about anybody but Chris.

Chris will win. They want him to win. They are pushing for it. If you have the season taped or on DVR, go back and look at his performances. Note the added lighting and smoke and other production applied to his performances, while everyone else is given LAME production. (I.E. enormous background singers on the screen behind, deliberately taking the focus off of the contestant.) The "marketing" is so blatantly obvious, I guess they think we are too stupid to figure out how they are trying to manipulate the audience.

Look at the "Dial Idol" numbers. Taylor runs away with it every week!!! If When Chris wins, the gig is up with AI, in my opinion. They will have just shown their "Ace up the sleeve" to the world. I won't watch next season if Taylor doesn't win. He is obviously the best one there, and he gets the most votes consistently. I do not believe his fan base will be swayed by one good "Chris" performance during the final competition.

You guys (Taylor fans, mostly, but some Elliot fans, as well) crack me up. All the conspiracy theorist and talk of AI pushing this person or that is absolutely hilarious.

1. This is a TV show. A very successful one at that. Just the fact that so many people go away bloviating about the various AI goings on feeds the machine.

2. Not only is this a TV show, but it's basically a game show. With as much exposure as AI provides none of the contestants with real talent will need to win. If they really have what it takes, then they'll go on to a successful music career. If they don't, they won't.

It's funny to see fans of one contestant put down all the other contestants. The "reviews" and extended commentary are hilarious.

Talk about limited appeal, all of the contestants have "limited" appeal in one manner or another. It's all about who has less limited appeal than everyone else. The only way to see who's appeal is actually less than the others is to see who gets kicked off and, to some extent, who ends up in the bottom 3.

Chris does have limited appeal. For example, he doesn't appeal to all those people who believe he just screams his songs (which I don't see as true, other than the "What If?" song).

But, a big but, he does appeal to the younger generation (my 2 teenage daughters and their friends LOVE Chris and would buy his album tomorrow if it was out), and he appeals to lots of women (my wife is not a rock fan, at all, but votes for 2 hours for Chris every week). His appeal is less limited than what you might think.

Kellie, as much as many of you hate her, has a very wide appeal. Country is "IN", cutesy is "IN", blond is "IN".

I'm sorry, but I don't see the appeal Elliot has (that's just me, I'm sure). I have to believe he does have some appeal, as he's still around. However, as a Queen fan, I thought he butchered "Somebody to Love" and I had high hopes for him.

Taylor is Taylor. I like him, alot. My wife and daughters wouldn't vote for him if the final 2 were Ace and Taylor or Bucky and Taylor, and they don't like either of them, either. He definitely has appeal, but I don't believe it's that broad, IMO.

Katherine is a beautiful woman, and can sing. But, her singing does not appeal to me.

Paris is super talented, and is handicapped by her age. It shows, and causing a huge disconnect. I agree with another poster earlier that it would be best for her if she didn't win AI. Let her mature and decide exactly who she is and what her style is and then use her contacts in the industry to get into the business.

Bucky wouldn't have made the top 10 of Nashville Star. How does AI only get 1 country guy in the top 24 and he's not even as good as the guys on a show with less than 10% of the viewers?

Ace ain't great, won't win it, and should probably go next.

Now, let's talk about votes from departing contestants...Who's going next, probably Ace or Bucky (but Bucky deserves to stay after doing Fat Bottomed Girls). Where do you think their votes will go? I think Chris picks up almost all of Ace's votes, and probably splits Bucky's votes with Kellie and maybe Taylor. After that, I think it's much to hard to determine who gets the previously departed votes.

But to say that Chris' appeal is limited is only a half-truth, and I don't believe it's as limited as some here believe.
