Do you happen to know how to find out if someone won an award for their performance in a musical?

I would go to the website of the organization that hands out the awards to check if they list their winners. In this case, I'd go to Google and search on Ovation Awards, then go to the website of whoever hands them out.

Should she even be in AI this year? Isn't she already beyond AI????

Well, AI supposedly has always been about finding the best undiscovered talent in the U.S. I guess it depends on exactly what their contractual rules are and how they define "undiscovered."

Okay, thanks. It just struck me as odd since Jennifer Hudson, (I think that is her name) went from AI to musical theater. Katharine seems to be going in reverse.

Now, let's say that Taylor Hicks had been nominated for a Grammy last year. I would think that he wouldn't fit the criteria anymore. But, as you say, it depends on their definition of 'undiscovered'. Being nominated would seem to equate with being discovered though, imo.
