Well, AI supposedly has always been about finding the best undiscovered talent in the U.S. I guess it depends on exactly what their contractual rules are and how they define "undiscovered." Okay, thanks. It just struck me as odd since Jennifer Hudson, (I think that is her name) went from AI to musical theater. Katharine seems to be going in reverse.
Now, let's say that Taylor Hicks had been nominated for a Grammy last year. I would think that he wouldn't fit the criteria anymore. But, as you say, it depends on their definition of 'undiscovered'. Being nominated would seem to equate with being discovered though, imo.

It just struck me as odd since Jennifer Hudson, (I think that is her name) went from AI to musical theater.Your point is well taken, although Jennifer didn't go directly from AI to the movies. Neither did Diana DeGarmo. Both of them tried recording CD's after AI, and both flopped.

it depends on their definition of 'undiscovered' I believe the only requirements are to be within the correct age range and not to currently be under a recording contract. Phrases like "undiscovered" are pure marketing and have nothing to do with the AI rules.
