All right, Why didn't Taylor do 'Will it Go Round in Circles' on Wonder night?
I think Carrie will make Wynonna eat her words.
I think it'll be Ace leaving tonight. I see Ace as the polar opposite of Chris. Chris is hard-driving and in your face; Ace is soft and mellow. Elliott has some of those soft and mellow qualities and although he doesn't have Ace's looks, Elliot is making improvements in his appearance from week to week. I think Elliot will be the biggest beneficary of Ace being voted off.
If Bucky gets voted off, I think his votes fall mainly to Taylor(southern boy, think he claims not to have much affinity with country but it's there whether he knows it or not) and Kellie(could be Bucky's little sister--I know families in the south that have both those "types" in one family).
I still think Chris is getting the votes he's going to get already. Mandisa leaving apparently didn't boost Chris if DialIdol is accurate. Her votes seem to have gone where I would have expected them to go(Paris and Elliott.)
Wynonna's lucky that she didn't need to appear on Nashville Star or AI. At her present weight, her package wouldn't go over very well.
'cause that's a Billy Preston song.
Hey check this out!
A petition by Ace's fans. They're upset because AI aired the clip where Queen refused to change their song for him! LOL
Ace Young Fans Disappointed in American Idol Production
To: American Idol Production and StaffOn Tuesday April 11th American Idol knowingly swayed viewers and voters alike against contestant Ace Young BEFORE he even got on stage to sing. By exploiting a clip where Ace was suggesting a song arrangement change in a negative way. Contestants are consistently told to make songs and arrangements their own, yet when Ace attempted it all he got was a snarky comment from Queen band members saying, "There's no way I'm doing that to my song."
If American Idol had chosen a different segment to start off Ace's performance the negativity surrounding the whole incident would've been extremely lower.
Simon suggested that Ace forgot his lyrics, yet upon further review no such forgetfulness happened. Also, Paula's statement that Ace was trying to bastardize the song was completely uncalled for! To say that Ace's attempt in making the song fit his own personal style is in any way shape or form demeaning the song to a lower standard is ludicrous! There have been countless times the contestants are slammed because they just sang it 'as is' yet when one such contestant tries to do as advised he gets slammed all the same. The hypocrisy surrounding this one performance is astounding.
We the fans of Ace Young feel that American Idol and it's producers deliberately put a negative bias on Ace Young's fine attempt of a song. Such a bias can make a detrimental impact on swaying votes from one contestant to another and we wish that this matter is reviewed at length in order to prevent such atrocities from ever happening again. A show that claims to be for the people surely seems to be putting it's bias out in the open without a hint of remorse, and American Idol Productions should be ashamed of themselves.
Sincerely,
>>>I say Chris,Bucky and Ace.<<<
But, really, which one are you praying for to win the whole competition? 'cause whoever it is--that will be the next American Idol! ;)
It's been Taylor picking crappy songs and no one else. Of all the last sixty years of country songs, he picks one from John Denver of all people. Taylor is very talented and will do well no matter where he ends in the voting. Many of the runners-up have out sold the winner.
Hm ... well, that post from the purported AI employee certainly WAS interesting, and thank you for sharing it ... but how do we know one word of it is true? It could have been written by anyone (employee or not) with opinions about AI and a little talent for fiction. Is there anything to back it up?
I left out Taylor because he's the only one this week who's NOT in danger of being in the dreaded "bottom 3."
BTW..."Circles" is a Billy Preston tune. I'd love to see Hicks cover it.
Oh...Carrie has too much class to try commenting on what Wide-onna Judd said last night.
Carrie rules! "You will sell more records than any other idol..." - Simon Cowell, 2005
I think they should have gone with what Ace wanted to do--it would have been horrendous, but it should have been Ace's call. That said, Ace should have sung the song "as is" in this case. I actually had some hopes for him at the very beginning of it; was a little surprised when Ace started singing outside of that squeezed manner of singing he does when he's not doing falsetto.
ROFL!!! That is the funniest thing I've seen critiquing AI!!! Excellent satire.
That's the same thing I told my son earlier today!
That's great!!!!!
In the thread where I saw that, the creator lamented having forgotten about Elliot. They added that that might not bode well.
As someone who has tracked several music forums daily ever since the first season of AI, I can say with certainty that NOTHING posted on the official American Idol forum should be taken too seriously. The overwhelming majority of the posters there are school kids, and most of what they post reflects what you might see on any junor high schoolyard during recess.
They love to pretend they have inside info. They love to accuse each other of racism or of being homophobes (even if they can't spell the word). They love to "hate on" contestants who are not their favorites. They love to pretend to be older than they are.
The supposed AI insider whose post was reposted above gives plenty of indicators that he or she is a kid. Can anyone read the opening sentences from that post and seriously think this is a working adult?
I work for American Idol and would be so fired if Anyone involved in the show ever found out that I was writing on this board. Which is why I took many precautions in how my letter here made it to this board. It wasn't an easy task. But after finding out what I have, I'm quitting anyway. I just can't talk until then, but I see that I need to speak now.
The person would be SO fired if anyone found out, but took many precautions that weren't easy, but he/she is quitting anyway and can't talk until then, but has to speak now. Sheesh, kid, take a breath -- and make a note to work on your spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence and paragraph structure.
The kid writes:
They have people, where that is their job ... to just sit their and read A.I message boards and watch what you all say in A.I chat rooms.
Yeah, right. Big insight. They're called board administrators, and their job is to keep the forum at least somewhat clean and free of ugly fights.
The breathless, disorganized, stream-of-consciousness which is the referenced post is likely the work of pre-teen or early teenage girl (and obvious Bo fan).
Speaking of DialIdol, don't know if their stuff is accurate, but it's fun to monitor. Here's this week's rankings:
1 | Taylor Hicks | 31.38 | 1.634 | - |
2 | Kellie Pickler | 27.912 | 1.675 | - |
3 | Paris Bennett | 26.298 | 1.694 | - |
4 | Elliott Yamin | 24.404 | 1.715 | - |
5 | Katharine McPhee | 22.55 | 1.736 | - |
6 | Chris Daughtry | 22.404 | 1.738 | - |
7 | Bucky Covington | 16.585 | 1.802 | - |
8 | Ace Young | 16.31 | 1.805 | - |
If it's true that Chris is in the bottom three, he's fallen a long way. He once had been the favorite to win the competition.
