More rumors about song spoilers for tonite from the same usual American Idol boards suspects....

Taylor Hicks, According to a reliable source at Idolonfox.com (friend of Taylor's grandma, he has spoiled before), Taylor's song choice for Country night is "An Upbeat John Denver Song"! ( The main ones I can think of is THANK GOD I'M A COUNTRY BOY or GRANDMA's FEATHER BED ).

Elliott Yamin: "It's a country song that's very cross-over worthy. It was originally done by a country artist that's very, very famous. It has since been covered by a pop artist." Elliott's girlfriend, Wonderwoman, posts at idolonfox.com, "I can't be a spoiler, But If Tuesday Needs Country, ELLIOTT IS READY."

Fans have been busy playing with the clues and have finally come up with:

"If Tomorrow Never Comes" by Garth Brooks, which has been covered by Ronan Keating, formerly of the English Boyband "Boyzone"

The Clues:

If Tuesday Needs Country = If Tomorrow Never Comes
Garth Brooks = Famous country artist Ronan Keating = Pop artist Clue from a family freind, "I have nothing to gaine by telling you directly." Chris Gaines = Garth Brooks (Garth put out one album as Alter Ego Chris Gaines) clues and info courtesy of Television Without Pity and idolonfox.com

I REPORT, YOU DECIDE :)

I guess since she's a Scientologist, that makes Katharine eligible to be Tom Cruise's next squeeze"

Here's something I notice ... Kat Mcphee looks strikingly similar to Kate Holmes -- the dark hair the facial features, etc. Now this scientology bit....

It seems that the Ron Hubbard folks have this thing with dark haired beauties who live near Hollywood (and vice versa).

Anyone who disagrees drop me a reply.

I agree with your feelings of being burnt out with FR postings, the political news, etc. I can't watch FOX News anymore either. To me, the political atmosphere is like it was at the end of George H W Bush's term. The sharks have drawn blood and the media is salivating over the prospect of driving President Bush's numbers down or their wet dream of driving him out of office before his term ends. It's very depressing. And, the president's PR team sucks big time.

My sentiments exactly. I hope they're wrong. This is the time for him to do 'Georgia on my mind'. He needs a really good week. I hope this week is better than last week and I hope the sound is right. :)

do you think Carrie is starting to copy some of the Gherkin's dumb act?

Carrie strikes me as a normal girl with very little pretensions. She comes from an intact family and has a strong mother and father figure at home. And note to you NRA supporters out there -- HER FATHER OWNS A SHOTGUN ( and Carrie told a story of how her first date was so nervous when he saw the dad holding it, he never ask her out again ). As of today, even after selling close to 2.8 Million copies of her first album, Carrie has remained down to earth and humble.

Kellie comes from a broken home and her background tells me indirectly she BADLY wants to get out of her rut and make a name for herself. And almost every article I read about her tells me that the image she tries to project on TV ( naive, sweet, girl who is a filial grandaughter to her grandpa and who still loves her dad ), does not quite play out in real life.

Almost every single person I know in Hollywood (and my cousin works there ) tells me that she has this prima donna attitude towards those serving the Idols. Workers tell others that she insists on being treated like Royalty.

Others tell us that she has told several white lies about her background ( from never performing before large crowds, to not having any music experience ).

Also, her story about being a "deprived" girl does not seem to pan out in real life. There is a story that says her grandpa bought her a new car at age 16.

There are famous women who are like this with very similar background, where sudden fame gets to their heads. Two famous ones I can think of are -- Evita Peron and Imelda Marcos.

I hope all of these stories are just rumors, but I'm getting a little wary of her.

Talent wise -- she has the more beguiling public personality than Carrie, I'll concede that. But in terms of vocal chops, Carrie trumps her by miles. NO QUESTIONS IN MY MIND.

Sir Links, I posted the item about Carrie's driving and JOKINGLY asked Jonny the question "You think Carrie is starting to copy some of the Gherkin's dumb act?"

To me, the Gherkin is attempting to be a Carrie clone, only Pickler is nowhere near as talented or pretty as Carrie.

Queen again? Yuck. Can't they find different artists to do?

I don't think they've done "Queen" before... Constantine did "Bohemian Rhapsody" one night, but it wasn't a "Queen" theme.

THANK GOD I'M A COUNTRY BOY

Maybe I am in the minority here, but I love that song!! I think it's a great choice for Taylor. He'll be able to whoop it up.

It's one of my husbands favorite songs and I sent him a text message saying Taylor might do it tonight. I got this back, "That would kick f-ing @ss!!!" So, it gets the thumbs up from the retrokitten household. :-D

I highly doubt it. The man's too smart to allow this to happen. Not after what happened to Paula last season and the Corey Clark thing. Between his libido and his money, I think he still values the later.

He's probably wait till the show is over to do it, assuming he wants to.

Unless... he realized that Paula "got away with it" and that freed him up to go "boinking".

MORE SPECULATION AND RUMORS FROM THE USUAL AMERICAN IDOL BOARDS SUSPECTS...

Speculation around Chris's song choice has him singing "Making Memories of Us" Written by Rodney Crowell and performed by Rodney Crowell--from a project called the "Cherry Bombs". Keith Urban also recorded a well-known version. Chris apparently sang this song at his wedding.

That's all for now folks, only 4 hours to go before we find out...

Well life on the farm is kinda laid back
Ain’t much an old country boy like me can’t hack
It’s early to rise, early in the sack
Thank God I’m a country boy

Well a simple kinda life never did me no harm
A raisin’ me a family and workin’ on a farm
My days are all filled with an easy country charm
Thank God I’m a country boy

Well I got me a fine wife I got me a fiddle
When the sun’s comin’ up I got cakes on the griddle
Life ain’t nothin’ but a funy funny riddle
Thank God I’m a country boy

When the work’s all done and the sun’s settlin’ low
I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow
The kids are asleep so I keep it kinda low
Thank God I’m a country boy

I’d play ¡°sally goodin’¡± all day if I could
But the lord and my wife wouldn’t take it very good
So I fiddle when I could, work when I should
Thank God I’m a country boy

Well I got me a fine wife I got me a fiddle
When the sun’s comin’ up I got cakes on the griddle
Life ain’t nothin’ but a funy funny riddle
Thank God I’m a country boy

Well I wouldn’t trade my life for diamonds and jewels
I never was one of them money hungry fools
Iid rather have my fiddle and my farmin’ tools
Thank God I’m a country boy

Yeah, city folk drivin’ in a black limousine
A lotta sad people thinkin’ that’s mighty keen
Son, let me tell ya now exactly what I mean
Thank God I’m a country boy

Well I got me a fine wife I got me a fiddle
When the sun’s comin’ up I got cakes on the griddle
Life ain’t nothin’ but a funy funny riddle
Thank God I’m a country boy

Well, my fiddle was my daddy’s till the day he died
And he took me by the hand and held me close to his side
Said, ¡°live a good life and play my fiddle with pride
And thank God you’re a country boy

My daddy taught me young how to hunt and how to whittle
Taught me how to work and play a tune on the fiddle
Taught me how to love and how to give just a little
Thank God I’m a country boy

Well I got me a fine wife I got me a fiddle
When the sun’s comin’ up I got cakes on the griddle
Life ain’t nothin’ but a funy funny riddle
Thank God I’m a country boy
Thank God I’m a country boy

While I like Thank God I'm a Country Boy....I think Bucky should sing it.

Taylor should do Georgia, The Gambler or Seven Spanish Angels.

Another great John Denver song would be Country Roads.

I believe the consensus is that he is singing Take Me Home Country Roads. Ray Charles did a version of that song as well.
