I think Dolly's songs are deceptively simple. On the surface they seem easy, but it's because she's got such a fabulous voice.
I still think either Paris or Mandisa will go with "I Will Always Love You."

ROFL over your Redneck Barbie! It will sell millions (to prisoners, road gangs, cottonpickers, trailer park residents, and folks at the rodeo!)

Wilco started with Jeff Tweedy, the other vocalist from Uncle Tupelo, the godfathers of Alternative Country. Jay Farrar, the "other" other vacalist started Son Volt. Kind of an Isaac and Ishmael sort of deal.....;-)

Why not? All Scientologists are certifiably nuts.

I'm not a country fan but I'd like to hear "Fast As You". That would be kickin...

I think its going to be a little tough for Pickles next week. I know this is supposed to be her strong suit, BUT, she just got body slammed by Simon for Suds in the Bucket. Frivolous? She made Patsy Cline's song sound like a hooker on the make.
Her voice isn't that good which is why I think she likes to pick more upbeat songs. The instruments help cover up voice imperfections. But, will she dare to go too cutesy, after last week?
She needs something in between, with meaningful lyrics, imo. She might be able to do Lacy Dalton's "16th Avenue". And of course Tennessee Waltz is still a player.
Dalton have a bit of country twang to her voice, and isn't a perfect voice either. Pickles could handle it.

The Pickle should sing Coal Miners Daughter.
Not a bad idea!

Nope, I want her to get "ballsy" and pick something she will really have a hard time with...I want her out.

You both read my mind. I was thinking Bucky singing "Fast As You". "Guitars and Cadillacs" might be a good choice for him, too.

I love Dwight Yokam. That's the 2nd person you mentioned that I really like. You have great taste. :) LOL I did go to a Yokam concert a few years back and that was a big red neck fest. 2 fist fights in the area around me. :) But he was good.

Clearly staged. All the shots are in focus, their clothes nearly match--even the lighting is just right for a cloudy day.
But something else is puzzling me.
How is it possible to be with Teri Hatcher ...
... and still look gay?
:)
