I'm 44 and I love my life. I work hard at the post office, and have lots of hobbies to keep me busy like travel, radio, computer stuff, politics, writing, cartoons, and more. I'm asexual but that doesn't mean I don't have other people to love who love me back.

I just celebrated my 25th anniversary as a college radio DJ with a big huge celebration--bands playing, food, and friends and family to embrace me. I have helped friends in their various endeavors, sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm.

I'm asexual and happy with my life ("married to my hobbies"). Sorry if that disappoints anyone.

As the article stated, I don't know if being technically celebate makes you asexual. I would think of a truly asexual person (assuming there really is such a thing) as someone with absolutely no libido. He or she would have no arousal whatsoever, not even masturbate, let alone have sex with someone.

Being that you're "married to your hobbies, " it sounds like you've channeled your libido there. Somehow I doubt truly asexual people would have your zest for life. They're probably very passive, with very dry personalities. They might also be sterile, or neurasthenic.

Just my unprofessional opinion.
