One evening my old, indoor cat ran out the front door and up a pine tree. No amount of coaxing would entice him within reach; so I gathered all the pillows in the house, including the couch cushions, and spread them under the tree. Then I sat in a chair under the tree all night, until early morning when I called a cousin to come over with a ladder and retrieve the poor frightened cat.
