Based on a few comments over the past few months, I've been working on a way to track the progress of individual machines. I know there are a couple of packages available to do this, but each of them seemed to have some drawbacks, at least as far as my own situation.
I've developed an alternative method to track progress on multiple machines with the following features:
- Tracking is available by the web
- Flags are raised if a machine stops folding or communicating, or a deadline is coming due
- Machines are easy to add
- Large amounts of machines can be monitored, and separated into logical groupings
- Low overhead on the machine
- It's free
Please Freepmail me if you're interested, and I'll send you the link to the Help page, which explains how to set it up.
Thanks Egon! Your tool is cool, and I like what you did with the scripting. You are really good.
I immediately found one of my sick little chickens who was looking for a place to lay it's work. It gets a little bit much checking each machine. I will be putting this on my remote borgs as time permits. It will be really useful in those cases. Those rebelious guys tend to break away from the collective and do there own things from time to time.
