I installed to run as a service on some machines that run 24/7. 2 of them said that the cores had been shut down improperly when I checked them today - trashed what they had and started over.

Delicate monsters.

What is the procedure for uninstalling on a machine running console mode?

When I get these things cleaned up and stable I intend to put your thingy on them.

Uninstalling what? The script from the machine? You should just remove the scheduled task from your scheduler. You can delete the script or not. Your machine will disappear from the monitor after 5 days (or 7 depending on the mood I'm in, until I get the automated script working).

If you're talking about the folding service itself, the answer can probably be found here: http://folding.stanford.edu/faq-uninstall.html

To summarize, it sounds like you just delete the folding folder (sounds kinda redundant), and it will take care of itself. However, I'm wondering if it wouldn't be wise to bring up Settings / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services, and disable the service first (assuming it's listed there).

I've never done this, so I'm kinda pulling it out of my.... well, whatever.

The FAQ that Egon linked to is the official answer. For the console version, they instruct users to delete the FAH binary (wherever it was installed). However, I'm not sure that that will actually unregister it from the list of services. I'll check it out tomorrow. You're going to love Egon's tool. It takes me about 10 seconds to check the status of all my machines, and I don't have to worry about whether anyone is working on them.
