Why I Support President Bush and the ZOT!
Posted on 03/19/2006 6:29:28 AM PST by thousand dollar hamburger
I think he has a sincere desire to help everyone. he has even gone out of his way to embrace people like Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy. He does not hold grudges as shown by his willingness to bend over backwards to allow terrorist supporting nations to operate our ports. We need this type of benevolent leader.
Our President is not a cheapskate, as he has opened up our budget to give to anyone who might need anything.
Aliens from all nations are welcomed into our great country without having to deal with mundane bureaucratic State approval. Cutting government red tape -- that's the Bush way!
Yes, our Prseident even realizes that occupying as many countries around the world as possible is the best way to spread American ideals.
We are truly lucky to have this great man. I suggest that at 10:00 AM EST, we all stand up in unison and shout -- HOORAY FOR BUSH!!!

Mars lacks only three things to make it a wonderful place to live.
Heat.
Carbon Dioxide.
Water.
The heat can be supplied by placing mirrors in a stationary orbit, to reflect sunlight onto the night side of Mars. This would be made of very thin sheets of aluminum.
The Carbon Dioxide could be supplied from the planet Venus, which has much more than it needs. Moving stuff around in the inner system requires nuclear rockets, and propulsion gases. (Carbon Dioxide is a very effective gas for propulsion.)
The water could be supplied from Earth. It is my answer to the shrill screams about global warming. (You've heard them: Global warming will melt the ice caps and flood the worlds port cities! -- Okay, say I, we'll send the ice caps to Mars. Next problem?)
Others, of course, will say, "Why bother?" --
1) Because we establish a presense in space, which will bring us resources, and possibly save our lives.
2) Because we will make two planets more hospitable to life (I'm not even counting Venus.)
3) Because it will create employment, and hope, and a better environment, right here on Earth.

I haven't done any calculations to see whether we'll need additional heat. With half of the Flying Castle now protected from the weather, and a regular diet of sunshine, we could probably stay here indefinitely.
Our first course will be to inventory the local materials, and to get a lot of Carbon Dioxide compressed out of the atmosphere. We need it for propulsion gas, and we'll need a lot of it to be able to share with the other habitats, too.
Ironic that a place I want to bring Carbon Dioxide to, is a place from which we must remove it. Even so, if my plan were to be followed, Mars could be made habitable within scores, or at least hundreds of years.
