Raining a bit here. But not the showers they promised us. *\:-(

Maybe later. The big boss just left to head over the mountains, so he'll probably cause a huge snow dump by his mere presence in the pass. Happens every time.

Adding on to the rear patio with flagstones. Doing more work on Zonja's new flower beds along the entire length fo the back fence. Replacing some of the trim on the house.

Nothing too spectacular.

Half the time when they say we have a chance of rain, they are only trying to keep our spirits up. If we actually do get measurable rainfall, we are pretty happy with it. ;-)

It should increase the value of your place, though, should you decide to put it back on the market.

...I don't think we have all of the Books of the Bible, so there is much we don't know.

That's an interesting thing to say. Here's how I look at it; tell me what you think of this:
From an archaeological perspective, there is strong pressure that would make it a very plausible claim to assert that we don't have all of the info; missing books, "lost gospels", etc. That is not an unreasonable position to take, if God is a passive and uninvolved party, or if He doesn't exist at all. In fact, to assert that God is passive and uninvolved, one MUST take the view that our collection of scripture is incomplete, because the parts we have, granting their authenticity, don't paint that kind of picture of God.

I happen to think that we do, in fact, have it all. Here's why:
The God described in the canon of scripture is a very active personality; very directly involved with individuals and their lives; relating one-on-one with a broad spectrum of people and expressing repeatedly His desire that people seek Him out to establish personal relationships with Him. "I want to know YOU," is the recurrent theme, "and I want you to know Me." Here are just two of myriad examples:
"I will take you for My people, and I will be your God."
--Exodous 6:7
"I will also walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people."
--Leviticus 26:12

That's a very different kind of God than one who is dispassionate about His creation, and it seems to me that such a God as this, given the desires He expresses and the authority and power He possesses, has both the intent and capability to preserve intact the message He wants us to receive about Him, and has, indeed, done just that.
"Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away."
--Matthew 24:35, Mark 13:31, and Luke 21:33

The question, then, is, "Do we believe that?"

So, how do we KNOW we have all there is in the way of Scriptures? Especially in view of the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Nag Hamadi texts? And the fact that archeologists are always finding ancient pieces of documents that seem to be "scripture?"

If God is "passive and uninvolved," how would you explain "miracles" and the fact that prayers are answered?

AND. We are reading translations of God's Words and since mankind is imperfect, it is reasonable to believe that lots of errors have crept into the various translations. We have even changed it by making it more "readable" so even though the Bible itself has not "passed away," perhaps it is logical to consider that some of the meanings in some of the texts have.
