Report: T.O. has agreement in principle with Cowboys
ESPN.com news services
Terrell Owens may have found his home on the range.
The talented and volatile wide receiver, unwanted in Philadephia after a season-long squabble with management and quarterback Donovan McNabb, has reached an agreement in principle with the Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Morning News reported, citing two unnamed sources.
The sources told the Morning News a formal announcement was expected in the next few days. No terms of the agreement were reported.
The newspaper said it could not reach team owner Jerry Jones, club spokesman Rich Dalrymple or Owens' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, for comment.
A five-time Pro Bowl receiver, Owens has 716 catches for 10,535 yards and 103 touchdowns, including two rushing scores, in 10 seasons in the NFL.
The Cowboys released Keyshawn Johnson on Tuesday, a move many saw as clearing the way for Owens to come to Dallas -- one of the Eagles' most bitter NFL rivals.

That surprises me as I was virtually alone last year in saying that the NFL is a business and that Owens' prior issues with the Cowboys were irrelevant.
Of course I was told that I didn't understand how things worked. LOL
How do you figure? It's not like Dallas has been a superbowl regular the last few years.
Parcells is very unhappy with the progression of the team as it is and if anyone chooses to sulk then they will find themselves cut. I am sure that Jones feels the same way.
Winning is the ultimate morale booster. If Dallas even fields a half way decent QB, they will be able to march up and down the field with regularity. This is also do wonders for their running game.
That is totally irrelevant - football is a business. Coaches and players need to win or they lose their jobs. Fans are the only ones that get their feelings hurt.
Whatever fans Dallas loses by signing Owens will be replaced 10 times over if they become winners again.
In any event, fans get over it if the player produces. Deion Sanders wasn't the most popular guy either but he produced so everything worked out.
But Deion was a Pro. The 'Neon Deion' thing was just his game persona. TO doesn't know when or how to turn it off. That's probably because it isn't 'an act' when it comes to TO.
Sanders was not as despised as Owens is for his dancing on the Star at midfield while a 49er.
We'll see how this turns out. My prediction: T.O. will do well for a while, but will inevitably begin demanding, as he always does, for his own selfish ends.
Owens is not a team player and never has been. There's no reason to think that anything but grief will come to the Cowboys, as it did to San Francisco and Philadelphia.
I concur with that. If Owens hasn't had a serious personality modification, and those are rare, he's going to be a big problem.
Charles Haley did achieve a personality modification. He WAS trouble in the 49ers locker room. He never was a problem in Dallas.
Will lightning strike twice?
Well he wants lots of money and he wants it yesterday.
T.O. will be fine unless the 'Boys start to struggle and he feels like Bledsoe isn't giving him enough touches.
I said this was going to happen last year and got flamed to no end by so called experts. Funny thing is I laughed then and now I have nothing but curiosity to see how this pans out. Good luck Dallas, I can't wait for the first Eagles/ Dallas game. Its going to be interesting to say the least.
I really admired and respected Bill Parcels but man... this is just nuts.
I'm more interested to see how he gets along with Bledsoe.
Parcels didn't show up for the announcement. Local sports media here are hysterical to listen to...lol
I think TO is a perfect fit for the Dallas Cowboys....absolutely perfect!
I think Parcells is gonna be a lot more tough than Bledsoe.
Other than that he's a total arrogant son of a beehive... okay.
Parcells hasn't shown up at an free agent signing announcements in the three years that he has been with the Cowboys.
I haven't really paid attention to what he does....I was just listening to the local sports media and laughing about the hype about TO being signed, JJ preening, Parcells not showing up...just the usual hysteria.
TO? Jerry Jones? Both?....I choose both. lol
Wanna bet that happens around the middle of November?
Owens is about Owens.
