So, was this ship run by the infamous "Sea Division"?

It's the "Sea Org." I used to see them all over Hollywood in their uniforms when I lived there. Creepy people. On the other hand, "L. Ron Hubbard's Winter Wonderland" on Hollywood Blvd. at Christmastime is a genuine hoot.

Yeah, that's it. It's been a while since I read the book by his son, the one witht he black and white cover that they had to rush into production because Scientologists blocked their volcano parody cover.

They managed to slip a recruitment booklet into my college paper in the 1980s. At the time, I wondered what the deal was the the naval officer outfits. Of course I laughed quite a bit while watching Oliver Stone's miniseries Wild Palms. There is a wicked parody of Scientology in there, including the little kid wearing a naval officer's uniform.
