American Idol Conspiracy Theory Has Taylor Hicks Winning
Various conspiracy theories swirled around American Idol 4 that suggested the order of elimination might have been predetermined. Some of the theories involved a rumored early press release listing the tracks on the American Idol Season 4 The Showstoppers CD in the exact order that the contestants were eventually eliminated. The Independent, a British newspaper, also published that Carrie Underwood was the winner of American Idol 4 several days before the finale aired. The newspaper removed the story but never offered an explanation for the error (that turned out to be accurate).
The first conspiracy theory for American Idol 5 has already surfaced. A poster on the IdolForums.com message board identified as Love4 CU JS n MG made an interesting observation about the order the contestants were shown in during a recap on the Tuesday night American Idol performance show.
Before the Top 12 Idols gave their performances, Ryan Seacrest announced Your top 12, here they are and a face shot of each Idol was quickly flashed on the screen. The order the Idols were shown in were Melissa, Bucky, Lisa, Kevin, Ace, Kellie, Mandisa, Paris, Elliott, Katharine, Chris, and Taylor.
Love4 CU JS n MG points back to the American Idol 4 finale and says the contestants were shown in their order of elimination with Bo Bice and then Carrie Underwood being the final two, which foreshadowed Carrie Underwoods eventual win. Love4 CU JS n MG suggests that this seasons recap could be foreshadowing the eventual order of elimination.
So far only the Melissa elimination has come true, but the fact that Chris Daughtry and Taylor Hicks are the final two in this conspiracy theory does match up with what many are predicting. Could Taylor Hicks be destined to defeat Chris Daughtry in the American Idol 5 Finale?
Lol...conspiracy! Also, did you know we never really landed on the moon?!
AI ping!
Kellie would be next, and she wins the personality contest. She is so funny and cute.
I was very disappointed to see Geddeon miss the top twelve.
So, last year, it's possible that Bo and Carrie were the top vote getters from the beginning, giving them the idea that they would most likely gain more votes as the competition went on. And it's just possible that Carrie's vote total was so overwhelming that a producer might have told someone that she was a virtual lock to win, based on past voting patterns.
The fat black gal should win.
In my opinion Taylor Hicks is not the best singer in the bunch. I agree with Simon that he reminds me of a drunk father at his daughters wedding reception. The two who I currently think are the best are Chris and Mandisa.
That is Mandisa, which would be ok with me, just as long as they hurry up and get rid of that most annoying Paris Bennett.
I like Taylor, but the way they are performing right now, there is no way should he beat Chris.
I do however tend to believe the theory that AI really needs a white male to win.
I like Paris, but I'm really pulling for the hillbilly guy.
I think Chris Daughtry is the best overall singer in the group.
Maybe. But he's a dime a dozen rocker to me, I don't like that style, but yes, he can sing.
IMHO i think american idol is overrated and after the second year it got boring quick.
The only time I watch is at the beginning when some of the "Fidols" make fools out of themselves and break glass singing
I've never watched American Idol much. From what I've seen of it in the past it's a show that rewards the Ken and Barbie dolls they have on it.
I would not even be interested in it this year other than I happened to be flipping through channels and saw this Taylor Hicks fellow and was blown away by him. The guy has a musical soul.
Overall, the women are not too impressive. The large black gal (Mandisa) has some pipes but she's far from unique. The young black girl (Paris) is very talented but comes off as a self-centered brat. The best overall female from a commercial standpoint is Katharine McPhee. If any of the women should win it's her.
Of the men Chris Daughtry has an outstanding commercial rock voice and could be lead singer for someone like Creed. But so far he's stuck in that one area because of his tone and range. Unless his voice is more flexible he's just another rock wailer but a damn good one. Elliot Yamin has a great range and a fantastic voice but he lacks "the look" for commercial success. Kevin Covais is not even worth a mention but is getting votes form the public because he's a lost puppy. Ace Young needs some soul. If he'd sing something and let a tear drop out of one eye he'd have all the women voting for him. Then there is Taylor Hicks. This guy is captivating and has a depth to him that's not seen in any of the other people on the show. He's a misfit but that's what it takes to be a success in the music business sometimes. He REALLY stands out.
I think Hicks wins because if you look at the American Idol message board he has about 25% of the total number of posts for the entire board and has a thread called Soul Patrol that has almost a million views on it. That's HUGE and indicates an undercurrent of support and votes that must have the American Idol producers giddy since it means he's bringing in millions of new viewers because he cuts across mumtiple demographics.
Your comments are so right on the money. Taylor already has it made and he knows it, that is why he is so relaxed. Regardless of wether he wins the competition or not, Taylor Hicks will make a pot full of money . Simon Cowell's comments about being a drunk father were so out of the blue and so wrong.
Thank you, I thought I was the only one who found Paris very annoying. She reminds me (her voice when she talks) of that young servant in Gone With The Wind - the one who "don't know nothing about birthing no babies."
LOL, excellent analogy. Also I have seen some rumors on the net that she is being backed by Al Sharpton. Have you heard anything along these lines?
I don't know who I dislike more Paris or Kellie. Paris is annoying and someone should tell Kellie that Jessica Simpson already did the "I'm so stupid, I'm cute" act.
