NEW YORK (AP) -- Isaac Hayes has quit "South Park," where he voices Chef, saying he can no longer stomach its take on religion.
Hayes, who has played the ladies' man/school cook in the animated Comedy Central satire since 1997, said in a statement Monday that he feels a line has been crossed.
"There is a place in this world for satire, but there is a time when satire ends and intolerance and bigotry towards religious beliefs of others begins," the 63-year-old soul singer and outspoken Scientologist said.

It sounds like he can dish it out,but he can't take it.
I wonder if Isaac is a "progressive".
When washing brains, it is best to put those close to the dirty laundry through the rinse cycle.
He is sooo going to sue them. :)

I can see that being the running gag now.
"Oh, no, he killed Chef!"

Yet Hayes isn't threatening to decapitate, bomb, shoot, stab or kill Matt or Trey. Didn't he get the memo? That's apparently what you're supposed to do when your religion is mocked.

It looks like his account has vanished.

Very odd.
Why kill him off? Suggestion made on the other thread that they use a different (distinctive) voice actor every episode Chef appears - Richard Simmons, Fran Drescher et al.
("Issac you were so not essential to the show")
well it isn't like he was on many of the shows recently.....
I wonder what they will do with the character.....
I wonder if Isaac is a "progressive".
All the regressive think they are progressive.
I'm would venture this decicion came from one of the higher up members of the cult. They wield tremendous power of the minds of their victims.
