Time for a new FreeRepublic folding@home thread.

Our FreeRepublic team of 300+ members comprised primarily of Free Republic members in good standing have banded together to donate their excess CPU cycles to a worthy cause. Via distributed computing, millions of computers around the world, contribute directly to scientific research, in the quest for a greater understanding of diseases such as Alzheimer's, Cancer, and Mad Cow (BSE).

Currently, the team is in 164th place (with 992 CPUs - nearly 19,000 completed Work Units and 2,982,241 points)

This is an entirely voluntary program, and if you want to learn more, please see the links posted below (or read one of the previous 8 folding threads)

Me too... I just have to get off my lazy complacent butt, and start doing it. Got about 37/11 projects going on, all at once, and no time to get out, and caress my future borgettes and bless them with the client... :)

I notice you and lrenh have an interesting battle going on for 2nd place. Only a couple hundred ppd average difference, looks like your "extras", are making the difference.

Yeah, they seem to be doing ok. Maybe I'll put a couple more in today just for good measure :).

Our team daily production bounced back to the 55,000 point range.

Only 5 teams ahead of us in the 101-157 average more than 10,000 points per day, and most of them are in the 10-14,000 range, one is around 19,500.

http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_list.php?s=&p=2

At this rate, we'll be at #99 in 3.4 months

What happened to LSimpson? I know FRpapasmurf changed his name to honor his departed friend Duke. I was curious what happend to LSimpson who is still currently in our top 10.
