OK, from a high of 195, I am currently in the high 150's, after nearly 10 years of work. I've tried lots of things, but nothing works like work.

I started out walking. Then added some weight training. It was very, very slow, but I have never crept back up, weight wise.

Two years ago I began training for a sprint triathlon. Did two that year. And three last year. I am scheduled to do at least two this year. No, I'm no skinny minnie. But I am healthy, rather than thin.

Thanks for the ping. I just read through all the posts and it's truly inspiring. I've been on Weight Watchers on and off since I was 18 (I'm 58), and it's a great program. Only problem, when I reach goal, I always fall back to old habits. You would think, at my age, I would have learned that doesn't work! I never exercised very much, but I've been on the treadmill 4-5 days a week, since Jan. 2, and it's really helped. Thanks again for this thread.

Thanks for adding me. I lost about 35 pounds over the last couple of years. Mostly through diet (very little carbs)and some exercise (bike riding). And, the most important part, I have kept it off!!! Now moving to phase two, where, since January 1st I have lost an additional 10 pounds! I need to lose another 35 pounds to get to where I want to be at this time (about 230). Sounds like a lot to carry, but I have a lean muscle weight of 210 pounds. When I get there, I will re-access the situation.
