LIVONIA, Mich. --
A driver was arrested on charges of angrily ramming into a sport utility vehicle that carried two pregnant women and pinning it against a wall. No one was hurt.
Earl Boyd also gestured at the women and almost forced their vehicle into oncoming traffic, police said Friday.
"Oh my God! He's pushing us!" one screamed on a 911 call as the emergency dispatcher tried to calm her.
Boyd, 50, was charged with two counts of felony assault with a motor vehicle and with drunken driving. He was freed on bond, and a court appearance was set for Tuesday.
His motive remained unclear, police said. "We couldn't comprehend what he was blabbering," police Lt. Greg Winn said.
Winn said that as Boyd tailed the women in his own SUV last Saturday, he began forcing them into other lanes, nearly pushing them into oncoming traffic.
The women, who were 7 1/2 months and 8 1/2 months pregnant, pulled into a parking lot in suburban Detroit. Boyd then rammed into the side of their SUV, pinning it against a wall, Winn said.
A video from a patrol car shows smoke from the spinning tires of Boyd's SUV as he allegedly continued ramming the women's vehicle as police arrived.
The 911 tape was aired on WLNS-TV in Lansing.
Boyd's home phone number could not be located, and an attorney had not yet been appointed, court officials said.
These women were in a YUKON. I don't know what this guy thought he was going to be able to accomplish.
I was just thinking the very same thing. If he was repeatedly ramming it why wasn't he charged with attempted murder? Or why wasn't he admitted to a mental hospital to be evalutated? I wonder if they let him out right away or at least held him until he sobered up? Bet he made it to the closest bar by the cop shop after he got released.
ROFLMAO!!!!! :)
Peace of the Duke of Earl be upon them.
Because this is Michigan! We like to keep our criminals on the streets, where we can all keep an eye on 'em.
