Death, where is thy stink?

The fact that it was a manure pit makes this no less tragic, and it could have been a pit of gummy bears and still it wouldn't be the least bit humorous to me. Someone just lost their husband, dad, brother, and so on. Indeed, they leave behind a young mother/wife and 3 other children/siblings. So tragic. God help those left behind.

It is usually the gases that do you in. You pass out and end up drowning in the crap. This is not the first time this has happened.

A dairy where I worked growing up had several dogs, including 2 border collies. These dogs LOVED to fetch anything you threw. One afternoon a 4-H group visited and one kid threw a stick out across the honey pond. The dog ran along the top of the "crust" for several yards and then *bloop* in she went. Justice was served when the collie, faithful and tenacious, pulled herself out [sticky, rank and green] and obediently returned the stick to the boy - and leaped up and down on him till he would throw it again.
He lost major cool points with his friends that day.
Hilarious!
