LAS VEGAS - The transmogrification is complete. Actress-turned-poker-star Jennifer Tilly has become so infatuated with high stakes Texas Hold 'Em, that for the first time in more than a decade, she's skipped the red carpet of the Oscars for the green felt of the poker table.
"This is the first time in 15 years I haven't attended the Oscar parties or gotten swept up in Oscar fever," Tilly told The Associated Press on Sunday from her suite at Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip.
"I haven't even seen 'Brokeback Mountain.' I don't even know who's nominated," she said.

LOL! Yes, the old redneck bar and casino. Liquor in the front and poker in the rear.
Texas Hold 'Em, indeed......
Dolly's always looked like that. What makes you think they're fake?
Gravity.
Ohh , I don't know , maybe the way she parts her hair or pumps her lips up, or the way her cheek bones stick thru her cheeks...call it a hunch...Maybe they are real, maybe the other stuff is fake...ha...
She's pretty good at it and frankly, a better player than actress.
Your post required a small bit of editing:
"Parton is wearing a dress designed by Robert Behar, (who was a structural engineer with the Army Corps of Engineers before becoming Dolly's designer)."
Oh yeah, the oscars....
Okay, so Jennifer passed over being with all of the Hollywood elite who are addicted to liberalism and themselves -- because, uhm, she is now addicted to gambling. I guess that's good.
ha...!
Robert Behar, didn't he major in construction of "over the shoulder boulder holders"?
Personally I think Texas Hold 'em is a wankers game compared to Stud or Draw poker. And for the life of me I couldn't understand how poker became a spectator sport, complete with all the hoopla of a game show.
Jennifer Tilley being a major player has answered a few of those questions. :-)
But I still won't "watch" a poker game, unless I folded early in the hand. :-)
No, she's actually good enough to make money from the game. Plus, she's a player so all her room and costs are comped.
One of her best roles was in Let It Ride with Richard Dreyfus...that movie should be considered a classic.
"In this (tournament), I have the prospect of winning half a million dollars," she (Tilly) said. "In movies, I have the prospect of the film going straight to video."
You'll never work in this town again.
Dang hard to look at the cards if she was sitting at the table.
