DURHAM, N.C. North Carolina's precocious freshmen earned another victory on the road, in perhaps the toughest setting. They ruined Senior Night at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Tyler Hansbrough scored 27 points, fellow rookie Danny Green came up with the key defensive stop and the 13th-ranked Tar Heels held off No. 1 Duke 83-76 Saturday night in the final home game for J.J. Redick and Shelden Williams.

BUMP
Damn Tarheels
EVERY sportcaster I heard before the game
said "NO WAY" Carolina beats Duke!! LOL!
What a bunch of idiot, why do ya think
they play the games?
Who is that Duke player, does anyone know?
Dockery
Very clever--Vitale has always been transparently ABC (anybody but Carolina), but he's had a apecial affection for some of those Duke players over the years.
Carolina wins it all at least once in the next two years.
Blatant example of the refs hoping that Duke would get back into it. He not only hit Hansbrough in the face, he shoved him backwards to the floor afterwards, and should have been given a technical. Kudos to Hansbrough and his teammates for helping him keep his cool, because no doubt the Heels would have been penalized for any retaliation. I was watching the "Above the rim" coverage on ESPN2, and Hansbrough and Noel were getting hammered every time they were taking a shot in the paint, and nothing was being called, while the Heels were being called for touch fouls. Sheldon Williams laid right on Hansbrough's back to block a shot, and the announcers bragged about how it was such a great play.
Heels will most definitely be contending for another title either next year or the year after. (Who knows, maybe this is their year again?)
I agree, and this kid Hansbrough is the one who's gonna lead them to the promised land. What a player he is becoming!
Yeah, he's a pleasure to watch.
Go Terps!
Absolutely loved watching Duke lose to the Tar Heels!
Some good over-acting there.
He was falling after the first foul after Dook put up a brick. Then as he was falling Dockery slapped him in the mouth. The fall was not a result of mouth slap, but the first foul. It was cheapshot. Watch ESPN and Dookie Vitale gloss it over.
Lol.
