In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
scion \SY-uhn\, noun
1. A detached shoot or twig of a plant used for grafting.
2. Hence, a descendant; an heir.
Example sentence:
Convinced he was the scion of Louis Alexandre Lebris de Kerouac, a noble Breton, he was off to do genealogical research in the Paris libraries and then to locate his ancestor's hometown in Brittany.
-- Ellis Amburn, Subterranean Kerouac
Etymology: Scion derives from Old French cion, of Germanic origin.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

WFB's attempt to emulate us ; ) No pushing at the door please!
I have talk radio on, so I am waiting to listen to it.....I am so shallow as to be salivating to hear it. oh, how the mighty arrogant one has fallen. I LOVE it!!!
I have just shoveled 8 inches of snow and had to start shoveling my way back into the house........it is awful.....Ava's mom has to come pick her up, I will be telling her not to even try to get up our hill......hubby will have to take the little one home with our studded snow tires. I would be terrified to have her even try it today. It is the worse day we have had this year.
Does that mean you stayed home from work today?
Good afternoon!
I'm just glad you didn't make us look at him. He creeps me out.

Thanks, I'll have to check it at home, no video or sound here.
Dear Ms Garden,
I seem to be missing from your ping list. I thought Ms xs was the only teacher ignoring me, but am I to find out I have been expelled?
Sincerely,
Doubled
