In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
scion \SY-uhn\, noun
1. A detached shoot or twig of a plant used for grafting.
2. Hence, a descendant; an heir.
Example sentence:
Convinced he was the scion of Louis Alexandre Lebris de Kerouac, a noble Breton, he was off to do genealogical research in the Paris libraries and then to locate his ancestor's hometown in Brittany.

Etymology: Scion derives from Old French cion, of Germanic origin.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

i do not like the box look, Honda Element is another one. basically i don't care for anything that looks like you want to make a spectacle out of yourself. for that reason i would never drive a Hummer either.

Thanks. We are thrilled. We have a 15 month-old granddaughter via our oldest son, and now a grandson from our #2 son. Our daughter, who posts as Truth'sBabyGirl, is graduating from Law School in a few months.
