Alright, who's going out tonight? Where are you going? What will you be doing? Does your mother know?
Remember, Allahtm hates costumes like this, so Bedazzle your bikini, celebrate Catholicism, and flip the bird in a generally eastward direction!
According to internet sources:
In the Christian calendar, Shrove Tuesday is the English name for the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, which in turn marks the beginning of Lent. In many solidly Roman Catholic countries in Europe and the Americas, this is the last day of Carnival. In some historically Francophone places it is Mardi Gras, French for Fat Tuesday; the most famous Shrove Tuesday celebration is the Brazilian Carnival.
Also, something about pancakes.
Whatever.
What are you giving up for Lent? Are doing it because you're Catholic, or because you live with a Catholic, or because it's tradition? Or are you ignoring Lent altogether(sinner!)?
Up here in Pennsylvania, they have "fasnachts" (donuts) instead of King Cake and beignets. Not exactly the same but a lot cheaper that having a King Cake fedexed up from Gambinos or some other bakery in Bayou Country.
It's my birthday today and it's Fat Tuesday!
I'm gonna have one humdinger of a celebration tonight!
All I can say is it involves milkshakes.
[sigh] Every Tuesday is fat Tuesday, in recent years.
