Ooooh yes! I remember that movie! It was very tense. We were staying at a hotel on the beach in North Carolina the first time we watched it. I can't remember the name of it myself. Don't think they ever did reveal who it was or why they were doing it. I wondered for a long time after that if it might have just been a case of mistaken identity, or maybe someone had a contract out on Weaver's character for some reason. Even when they showed the wrecked truck, I half expected a driverless truck to just right itself and start rolling after him again!

Gunsmoke
Bit part in Touch of Evil (They got another think commin!)
Gentle Ben
McCloud
Duel

I jusr realized, on the detective series with different stars each week, only COLOMBO is still kicking.

Rock Hudson, McMillan and wife
Richard Boone, Heck Ramsey
Dennis Weaver, McCloud
Peter Falk, Colombo.

I personally didn't care for the shows as they never missed a chance to denigrate handgun ownership. (Rifles were not a target then)

One of the best movies Stephen Speilberg ever did.

I knew they were Democrats. I just didn't know Dennis was a Liberal. Jesse Jackson for President? Come on.

I think the guy in the truck was just telling him he was bigger. I got that feeling last week when I drove the entire length of the Pennsylvania turnpike. After a while, I was so happy to see the trucks parked on the side of the road or in the rest stops for the night!

The story " Duel" was originally published in Playboy Mag.
I forget the author of the piece.
The story in my opinion, was more suspensful than the movie--although the movie was very well done.
The ugly truck should have won an award.

They made you do that on a Saturday night? !! Don't tell me they made you suffer through the worst hour of television right before Gunsmoke, Lawrence Welk!
