Hotties with brooms: U.S. women curlers have sex appeal

PINEROLO, Italy - One of the hottest tickets at the Sydney Summer Games in 2000 was track and field. Surprisingly, it wasn't because of the great sprinters or hurdlers that were performing, either.
A phenomenon occurred in the Land Down Under. It was dubbed "Babes Over Bars" by the local press. Well, maybe by the slightly less dignified media outlets. And it became the greatest show on earth.
As it turned out, an extraordinary collection of attractive women were competing in the pole vault. Several of them even posed for calendars and picture books. Suffice it to say, the women's pole vault never was more popular.
Say what you want about athletic ability being able to stand on its own merits, but sex appeal sells. And that applies to any gender and any sport.

Tell me this, I couldn't figure out if the sweeping was to speed up the rock or slow it down?
To: Chanticleer
Actually, better than X Games stuff like snowboarding and hot-dog skiing. :) If it weren't for those events, our medal count would have looked a lot different.
And yes, the SNL skit was classic.

The Naked Women of . . . Curling? You remember the sport of curling, don't you? Winter Olympics, guys on ice without skates throwing a big rock down a lane as two other guys with brooms sweep in front of it? Well, it appears that the ladies also participate in curling and some of them ain't half bad looking . . . at least in the black and white "artistic" nude shots gracing the new Ana Arce Team Sponsorship Calendar 2006 now available. It's a another one of those "naked to raise money for a good cause so it's not naughty" calendars that have become popular fundraisers the past few years. The calendar features female curlers from all over the world, including Polish national team lead Kasia Selwand, seen at right in a very non-curling pose. You can order your copy for only $25 Canadian (that's like $3 American)
here.

Yes, curlers ARE hot!
To: pissant
Hot looking women who know how to handle a broom? If they can also cook and do laundry, I'm interested.

Sweeping generally extends the distance the rock goes...it cleans the ice in front of it.
or sweeping can be done to make the rock move a different direction.
its all in how you "sweep"

Is the chick on the right the one who plays the dominatrix on a few episodes of CSI?No, that is Melinda Clarke. I actually saw her in a zombie movie on Sci-Fi, which was made in 1993. She was nicer-looking "back in the day," but she was freaky in her role in that as well. For example:
