never heard of it, i gave up on Linux just seemed way to confusing to me. And yes i did give it a shot, i borrowed books from library and everything just could never get a grip on it, guess im just dumb :)

guess im just dumb Not dumb, just not used to the way it works. It is a bit different. You've spent a long time learning MS-Windows. To really use Linux to its fullest, some of that will have to be unlearned. :-) A lot of it translates pretty well in the Linux world these days though, depending upon what desktop you use.

It takes time, and to some people thats not worth it. I can understand some people just dont want to invest the several months to learn a new OS by using only that OS bus seomtimes that what it takes.
The problem with the Linux community is one of communication, there is no solid source out there saying 'This is the on for new people' and 'stay away from this distro its a pain'..

You are not dumb. Linux is just not user friendly. I've said many times on these threads that Linux will never compete with Microsoft until it is as easy to install, configure and handle 3rd party software as easily as MS does.
Linux is fine for people who are very PC savvy, but the average user cannot get it to work as well as Windows.
