Yes, I've been wearing clothing that (Oh my goodness!) has shown my cleavage, since high school. I also sometimes wear short skirts and have worn bikinis on the beach. There is a time and place for everything.
There is also a happy medium between burkas, and the pictures of scantily clad women on this thread.
The above is the very essence of hedonism. With freedom comes responsibility.
So if someone wants to do it, And it brings them joy.
I just sit back and shut up ;)"
No you don't. You irresponsibly promote it.
And that's where we differ. If I think something is harmful to society, as I believe today's pop culture's objectification of women is to women, I speak up.
Well,
That's your right to believe in a free society, now isn't?
The difference being, I haven't stooped to insults and personal attacks.
Personally, your opinion solidifies my own ;)
One can dress with a modicum modesty without looking matronly.
A personal attack?
You posted pics of scantily clad, sexually suggestive pictures of women on this thread. Bad for a man to do it, unconscionable for a woman. I pointed out what you did and why it is harmful to women. Hardly a personal attack.
Again, that is your opinion. All those pictures are from fan sights, album covers, magazine covers etc. In your opinion it's harmful to women.
In mine, it's not. I have issues with women who are forced to do things against their will. I also like being female, like my body and I encourage other women to do the same.
NO, not everyone run around in bikini, but I don't freak out at it either. I get annoyed with the constant 'everyone over there wears a burka' jokes, so my point was 'THE WOMEN OVER THERE LOOK, DRESS AND ACT LIKE US!"
Because they want to. Really.
In fact, everyone one of those women CHOSE to pose in those outfits. Unlike a woman in a burka....think about it.
Get it,
Some girls like being girls.
And being feminine.
And almost daily I discover that all women like clothes that make them feel beautiful.
Victorias Secret became popular because women like feeling beautiful....
And that includes for some, many....the outfits you see in those pictures.
So in all due respect,
take your self-loathing out on someone else,
please ma'am.
Thankyouverymuchandhaveaniceday.
Actually, my phrase was "exhibitionist slut." I don't think you can argue that she's exhibitionist. As to her slutiness, I guess that's in the eye of the beholder. However, my point was that there are women who can make a statement about feminine empowerment without using a single thread of Spandex.
i ve never heardof her before but if she madea video that got her band from egypt i gotta see it do you have a link ot her video ?
means "I'll Disturb You" but more in that 'I'm a brat and I make things happen' kinda way.
It isn't the video, or how she's dressed, I think it's the setting (all male) that caused a few Egyptian MP's to get their knickers in a twist. Honestly, it's one of my favorites....she's a great dancer and a good singer! :)
I have three closets full of clothes, and learned to sew at 12 because I LOVE clothing. I have one closet full of pocket books and bags and close to a hundred pair of shoes -I needed a different pair to go with the many pretty dresses and suits I own. I wear makeup daily. I made all three of my prom gowns with plunging necklines, because I had the figure and the chest for them and wore a beautiful red gown with a low neckline to the freeper ball. And by the way, for most of my life, I had a figure that most women would kill for, and the looks to go along with it and happen to be very feminine looking and love my femininity. No self-loathing there. I neither hid my looks or flaunted them, but wore clothing to complement them.
Today's popular culture, however, objectifies women like never before, sending the message that looks are the most important aspect about women, indeed the only important aspect about women. And the sexually suggestive pics of women you post send the same message.
It is as damaging a message from the left, as the idea that women are only wombs on the right. Women are so much more than wombs or looks.
And while many women love the lingerie from Victoria Secret, some of us believe it's to be worn in private, not flaunted about in pictures in public, and certainly not on a family-friendly conservative forum like FR.
BTW, my belief that the pictures you post are inappropriate for a conservative forum and even too sexually suggestive for the popular culture, has NOTHING, to do with self-loathing, and to make such a suggestion IS quite an illogical extrapolation and a better example of an honest to goodness personal attack than anything I said to you because, mam, you don't know me from Adam.
Yes, what I said is an opinion, just as what you said was your opinion. We both stated them in a place where people state their opinions. And unfortunately to you, I am as free to have my say as you are. : )
We will have to agree to disagree. But it is an issue I will not remain silent about.
Succinctly and well stated and exactly right.
thanks for the link im goingot go watch the video now
going to go i mean. never type with exited fingers lol
Please let me know what you think of it :)
great video sexy and had a good beat. I didnt understand the words but the pitch and background music was really good
Like I said before, I don't want goobermint involvement. In the interest of freedom and God given rights, soociety should boycott these things, not have Congresscritters make more laws taking away freedoms. I hope that clears up any confusion.
Glad you understand. I wouldn't be a real conservative if I want government involvement.
Educational purposes only. Really, that's all. Honest.
