'Muslim Madonna' - Brace for another muslims' riot, bloodshed
Feb 24, 2006
Muslim pop singer Deeyah has irked the Muslim world with her provocative new music video that shows her stripping off a burka to reveal her bikini-clad body.
Deeyah claims, the video, What will be? deals with Muslim women's rights and female empowerment, as it also features Muslim women who have fought for freedom of expression.
The singer, who was born in Norway but moved to the UK after her act alienated her from the Muslim community, has been forced to cancel performances and hire a team of bodyguards after inciting anger from British Muslims as well.
"I can't walk around without bodyguards. I would be lying if I said abuse from religious fanatics did not upset or scare me," the 28-year-old, dubbed as the 'Muslim Madonna' was quoted by Contactmusic, as saying.
Asian music TV network B4U TV dropped the video after receiving complaints.
"We played the video a couple of times and then did not play it again. We had threats which we were forced to take very seriously. These things are sensitive issues," an employee said.

Yeah,
the biggest thing isn't the action (dancing or singing) it's that the action is taking place in front of non-family memebers....especially men.
THAT is what gets the fundies knickers in a twist!

You're right; you're free to make an ass of yourself any time you want. By all means...

Too bad most of the Muslim World will ignore or not even hear the message, and only be concerned with the sight of female skin and criticism of Islam.Oh, I think this Quicktime is speeding around the Muslim world like a bullet.

And what all those women are doing is bad and their actions should be marginalized, shamed, and discouraged.
Of course, not by fatwas and beheadings.

Yet know it not? How'd you get an ISP out there in Amish country?

The slippery slope always starts with lowering the ground by a couple of gradients.
I am afraid that the legacy that Islamofascism is going to leave, even after it's gone, will be bad for the public's perception of Christians.
Christians don't agree with parading almost naked women around on TV. Muslims don't either. It's really easy to link the two and morally equivocate, as has been done many times in FR threads.
You and I know well that the situations are completely different. No self-respecting Christian is going to call for beheadings or stonings of women for these things. OTOH, no self-respecting Christian is just going to say, 'that's OK because it's against muslims.' Right is right and wrong is wrong.
The secular conservative world, comprised mainly of south park republicans and libertarians, could very easily make this erroneous connection. That's a situation that can only have an unpleasant ending. For this reason, Islamic fascism is far more dangerous than the purely military threat it poses; it will continue to gnaw on our culture and cause division for a time even after it's been defeated.
