Your heart.
:-)
I was born blond too.
;-)
A woman was sitting at a bar enjoying an after work cocktail with her girlfriends when an exceptionally tall, handsome, extremely sexy middle-aged man entered. He was so striking that the woman could not take her eyes off him.
The young-at-heart man noticed her overly attentive stare and walked directly toward her.
Before she could offer her apologies for so rudely staring, he leaned over and whispered to her, "I 'll do anything, absolutely anything, that you want me to do, no matter how kinky, for $20.00......on one condition."
Flabbergasted, the woman asked what the condition was.
Then he replied, "You have to tell me what you want me to do in just three words."
The woman considered his proposition for a moment, then slowly removed a $20 bill from her purse, which she pressed into the man's hand along with her address. She looked deeply into his eyes, and slowly and meaningfully said....
"Clean my house."
Now if I could just find one of those...I'd even give him $30
Yah...and a tip. ;o]
We're an Irish house going back five generations in a right-line descendency. My paternal great-great-grandfather immigrated from County Kerry around the 1840's. My great-grandmother Anna was born on St. Patrick's Day as was my daughter Rachel. On my father's mother's side, we're Stanfield's [Stansfeld]; English who removed to County Armaugh, Ireland in the mid-1600's to escape religious persecution of non-Anglicans by the English Crown.
Wow. Right there. All the genealogy you really need...how cool is THAT???
:o]
Ding, ding, ding! Great answer!
Thanks Fanfan!
;-)
This time of year, we all have Irish hearts, don't we?
You betcha!
I'll be bock.
It's been pretty well-researchd by my one Mormon great-aunts. I'd like to find out more about my great-great-grandfather, I have precious little on him. I pick up the family with my great-garandfather in Pana, Illinois in the census data from 1870.
If you felt inclined to do so, you could research it yourself. All the tools you need are at the nearest Family History Center.
I don't know how much it would cost...probably just for the printing and the blank disks, (unless you bring your own) but there are all kinds of books as well as obits and addresses for other documents. And there is usually someone there to help you.
The Family History Centers have direct access to lots of things that can help in your search.
All I have on great-great-grandpa is a name, place of origin and ballpark birth and immigration dates. Sketchy.
I'm convinced that, in order to really plant your feet in this world, you've gotta know who you are; what kind of stock you come from; what your heritage is. It gives you something to build on and the motivation to improve on it; to uphold and carry forward the family name. Like a generational covenant, in a way; a torch that's passed on. I think it steadies a person in life and gives them a sense of mission and purpose to, at the very least, not drop that torch, but arrive at the end of their days having lived worthy of all it represents.
Got so tied up with things the past few days I almost lost this thread. But now it's marked for return this evening.
Looking at the probability of yet another trip in two weeks -- this time, to Orlando.
Hi Guy. No tornadoes here, thankfully. We did get a lot of rain. There was flooding in some areas, but nothing bad around where I live.
It sounds like you have enough to start with. You'd be surprised what you can find with just that little bit.
I always figured we could give our kids two things that really mattered in life. One was roots, the other was wings.
I'm proud of my genealogy, and I'm excited about being able to give copies of it to my kids and grandkids.
Wow! I was wondering what had happened to you! I'm glad you're OK. Have you recovered from jet-lag and all that?
Hi Face. :-)
Glad you are OK. I was thinking about you since I figure you could be in a dorm or apartment and away from immediate family.
