Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I haven't really figured out who to cheer for yet this season. It's much easier to pick out who you ~don't~ want to win. ;-)

Those sisters need to go. They annoy me. The nerds are great, though, and the other dating couple might be ok... the hippies are ok but a little too much, I think.

The other factor today and tonight is weather... it's gonna be nasty out. If it's raining it'll be hard to keep it dry. If you can pay for it and wait till then next nice day or saturday for delivery, that would be good.

The sisters are wayyyy too loud. In many ways.
The pink girls and the "we never wanna work" dudes are also highly irritating.
I like the hippies. I think they're fun! ;-)
To: HairOfTheDog
Well...I guess we'll see what it looks like when I get off work. I've already told him to hold it for me, and even if I don't pay until the weekend, I think he'll be OK with that.
To: RMDupree
Heh...speaking of TV shows...you know you've been watching too much American Idol when you finish a job interview and can just *hear* Simon saying "That was absolutely *average*, and I think that's the last we'll be seeing of you..."
I can't wait to see the guys again this week. You're right - last week Chris totally stole the show. A lot of his music isn't what I'd normally listen to, but he is *good*, and a seriesly good performer, too. He's going to get a contract out of this one way or another, I think. Elliot's great, too, even if he is goofy lookin'. ;-)
To: RosieCotton
I'm rooting for the nerds. The world needs more geek types.

Yup. The guys are on tonight. Yippee!
The girls were OK last night. Mandisa stole the show. That woman can sing!
They've put up the spoilers on the AI thread for what the guys will be singing tonight, BTW.

*sigh*
I think I'm giving up on the follow-up e-mail for now. I just don't know how to word it.
Off to the salt mines!
To: RMDupree
I like Mandisa!
Some of the time Katherine McPhee(?) is really good, but I didn't think she was that great last week. Don't remember why.
OK, I'm gone. See you this evening!

Just two sentences would be fine :~D
"Thank you for the second interview, I'm very interested in the position and look forward to hearing from you."

only because it is a run-on...
To: TalonDJ
It's one of my faults, adding a comma instead of a period, even when a period would be better, I just can't seem to ~stop~, but I know I should, it would make my writing a lot easier to read, as well as make it clearer, and more concise.

How about a semicolon? The semicolon is my favorite piece of punctuation; it turns those run-ons into conjoined sentences beautifully.

Glad you liked it! I found it at
this site here, which has a lot of cute dog and puppy pictures.
To: JenB
A semicolon might be a great tool to use while I work on this problem; it has the best features of both the comma and the period.
