The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I don't think Harley is doing it intentional, he's just kind of a pig:)

Well, the test would be to keep moving it, and see if he seeks it out to poop on it :~D

When Bay was in his original stall I had the feed troughs, water and the gate all along the front, and he pooped neatly on the back wall. Now that the feed is on one wall and the gate opening is opposite, he isn't sure where to poop and he often poops nearer the food, if he's locked in. Since I rarely lock him in, he usually goes outside.... sometimes just a foot or two outside, but he doesn't mess the stall.

The mares are both remarkably tidy about poopin all in one place, Cyn unfortunately right at the gate out so it's right in the way. The trouble with the mares is the pee. They pee too much :~D And Cyn has a fouler funk to her pee than I've ever smelled.

I forgot to brag about Rocky, He never poops in his stall, and only pee's in there when it's raining. He doesn't like to come out in the rain.

Harley has free choice, and always poops and pees in his:(....I don't know why.

That's funny that she would smell so bad, since she drinks so much...

Probably just her.

Ohhhhh, that's how they do it. Back up and they turn towards you, then you get them to turn?

Pretty funny seeing this post over on the abducted child thread. I'm glad you did that, though. I would have missed that thread and had been following the story.

Good Morning.

Bumps are almost gone, and Biscuit did get a bath. Gosh, it looks like rain again today. I better get on that lawn mower.

That's good. I wonder what was in that one that isn't in the others that bothered her.

Anywhere close to your mom will be fine, I'm very familiar with Fort Worth. I'm in a rural area, no restaurants near me, unless you want to go to Subway.

Subway is good eating. I may need a place with a playground though:')

My Mom is in Waco now. I'm thinking about bringing kids and taking them to the zoo though. Are the rides still there?

No, they aren't. Those rides have been gone for over 25 years, I think. Forest Park pool and the little train is still there. (I don't recommend Forest Park pool. It ain't what it used to be).

The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History would be a great place to take the grandkids. They have a separate section called Kidspace that has tons of neat stuff for little kids to play with. A water section with little boats for the kids to play with, a small size pretend grocery store with small carts, lots of play groceries, and even check out, and tons of other stuff. And of course there might be something at the Omni Theater that the kids would be interested in. Pick a weekday when it's not too crowded. I might even meet you there with my 2 smallest kids but I don't want to go to the zoo, too friggin' hot.

Hello,

I've been out riding. What a nice day, it was so quiet and peaceful. The day is very overcast and looks like rain, so it was cool.

Really! I just watched a forecast where it looked like it was gonna be hotter than the dickens.

Nice here today, waiting for the lawn to dry out enough that I can mow.
