The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Some pictures I took today (came home early) of my girl learning barrels and pole bending, along with my great niece, learning same.

Thanks for the offer. We are using strictly Stragety for all the horses except Pres. He is getting Equine Senior now. I finally talked Bob into using one feed instead of six.

Yeh, she is. They had been working for awhile when I got home and Bob wanted to show me how she moved, then let Krista up to show me how she was doing. Neither wanted to take the time to change the stirrups.

It's Dusty Rose, my mare. She's Speed's mom.

I came home early so I could pick Bob up and have him take me to the doctor :) I got a severe allergic reaction to something this morning at work and Benadryl wouldn't help it. I had to go into the doc's and I wanted Bob along incase they gave me shots or something, which they did. I was already a little drifty from the Benadryl and after a shot of it and a steroid shot, I was past drifty to downright dangerous to be on the road.

It's confusing looking at the pictures, the white barrels and the blue one with the white ones are set up as if for pole bending and she's just weaving through those. The single blue barrels that you see are the ones set up for barrels.

Okay, this didn't even make sense to me, the wonders of modern drugs :)

I understood you perfectly:) Maybe because we've done the same thing:)

Sorry your feeling ill/ Hope it clears soon.

Seeing your pictures of barrels makes me want to run out and do it again. CTR's are my main focus but I still would like to keep working on barrels as a side, and maybe someday sticking with one horse I'll feel more confident doing them.

I have to admit I was terribly jealous today :) I so would like to be able to ride again and I knew when Dusty was born in '97 she would make a great game horse or cow horse for a kid or a woman. She's only 14.3, you can see how big Bob is on her.

Yes, thank you. The itching has decreased a good bit. I tried laying down but I can't go to sleep, so I'm just going to have a cup of tea and read news for awhile. That ought to put me out :)

Tuffy's shoes look really great. I'm sure that impression material is really helping him too. It's good that they aren't touching his soles coz if he's got any rotation at all then the bone is already too close to the ground. And getting more pressure on his frogs will help raise his heels eventually.

Sorry to hear about your toothache. Nothing hurts much worse than those. Hopefully you've got a dentist appointment pretty soon and they can fix you up.

Good Morning. It's Friday again!.,

Time sure does fly by.

Duchess, I hope you are leaving better. Nice pictures, thanks for sharing. Bob is a big guy!

Tuffy, Tuffy (horse) looks good, lips and all..lol

We are suppose to get rain today, after one beautiful week. Figures, weekend coming. My camper is un-winter-rized (is that a word?) and ready to go. The close campgrounds are looking better and better all the time.

Good Morning, I will have to check out your pictures, when I get home. I will be so glad to be out of this place. So many bans on everything, it's sickening.

...That paint horse racking along looks pretty cool:)

That wasn't a real fast rack either. That was just a good trail rack.

Jenny was laughing at how different you both sound:)

LOL! Yep, I sound different alright! Just call Madam Redneck. ;o)

The horses look good. That's hilarious about Suzie and the cat. She's pretty bold when the cat's on the other side of the door. The cat's probably sitting over there thinking "C'mon, just stick your nose within claw's reach and I'LL show you what bold is!"

They are nothing really exciting. No action shots. We just let them stand tied at the trailers all day. Today I should get some of Jenny riding. And if I remember I'll get Celia to take some of me out on the trail. I have no problems telling people I'm taking their pictures to show to my friends on the internet, even tho they are think its a bit weird:). But to ask them to take pictures of ME so I can show them just seems even weirder even to me:).
