The President should have Oval Office chat. *Vanity*

Posted on 02/22/2006 10:13:31 PM PST by Echo Talon

Politically I think the President should have a Prime time Oval Office chat about this port deal. Explain the false information that has been floating around and tell the people what the facts are. If I were advising him, I have even have him say something like, "I personally just learned of this deal a few days ago, but people in my administration have been looking at this for quite some time, im sorry that this has become such a political issue and I agree, we did a poor job of informing the public. These are the facts..."

Something like that, take responsibility clean up the facts, and hopefully people will understand it better.

I honestly have reached information overload on the topic.

But when I read on one of the threads about how a CNN flack is screaming "Impeach Bush Over This!", then I figure it's just another haymaker for The Left.

Can't. The "facts" are almost certainly that there's a secret deal with the UAE for specific support and/or non-interference when we have to deal with Iran. That would not be something that would be palatable to the average UAE citizen. Has to be kept under wraps.

Kept under wraps? Its all over the news! Who doesn't know about the UAE port deal by now? All business deals are secret not just this one.

Try reading my post again. I'm not talking about the port management deal being secret. It's the REASON for the port management deal being quietly pushed through and being supported by the Bush administration, that's secret.
