Bush and McCain now as one?
I hope the Republicans are not doing the old "whose turn is next?" in the presidential nominations...McCain is a good reason to vote third party.
McCain is correct occasionally. I imagine Team Bush will remain completely neutral throughout the primaries until a nominee has it locked up, and then will support whomever that might be.
Is a Bush endorsement of McCain enough to sway your opinion?

This is a silly speculative question, but I see a lot of chest puffing around here that bothers me. I might argue against McCain during the primarys, but if he was the nominee of the party then I would vote for him in a heartbeat above ANYONE else the dems could put up. And in my book, a decision to stay at home and not vote is the same as voting for a democrat. Whatever else McCain may be, he is not an appeaser, war dove, or tax and spend liberal. Too many around here would cut off their nose to spite their face.
Come 2004 they're not gonna hold us by our @@ and say, "Vote for me, or else," or "You have no choice and must vote for the lesser of two evils."
Today's lesser of two evils is tomorrow's evil and I'd rather be right today than wrong tomorrow.
Tancredo for President.
McCain is in no way a Conservative. He's a left leaning RINO!
McCain? Rice? Pence? Allen? Guliani? Coburn? Any other come to mind?
McCain we all know wants it, can I say 'oh so badly'. Rice is not a politician and I don't believe she has ever stated a desire for holding office. Pence is unknown quantity - just know he has said some things I like Allen, I think is playing it close to the vest - but think he would like a run at it. Guliani like Allen playing it close to the vest - but think he would also like a run at it. Coburn is unknown quantity - just know he has said some things I like.
McCain and Guliani may be the only ones with any kind of national base within the Party. All the others are pretty much regional - maybe good VP candidates. McCain and Guliani are possibly the only ones, as of now, that could hold their own against any Democrat nominee.
RINO aspects don't mean much to the party apparatus, bosses or what ever they are these days. I think all the Party wants is the win.
Third parties, Libertarian or any other, don't have the where with all to muster a majority of votes nationwide to win a Presidential race. But can, and as past history shows, will act as a spoiler against both Republicans and Democrats.
So, exactly where are we?
Rudy.
Why not? It's never worked in the past and Republicans are winning too many elections these days. We can't nominate a solid conservative who could actually win in 2008. Democrats may have really bad ideas about running the country but the Pubbies beat them hands down when it comes to bad ideas about running campaigns.
I'm actually fairly neutral on McCain, but leaning away from him. I don't really have a favorite yet, but George Allen seems worth looking at.
