Do you hear the "Copy Rights" Helicopters over your home yet?

In all seriousness, That seems rather unexplainable

I had a similar experience when I converted an old album from Night (who had a hit song called "Hot Summer Nights" in 1979). Not only did iTunes supply me with album art and metadata tags but they suggested that I go back to my attic and convert John Stewart's "Bombs Away Dream Babies" to MP3 as well.

When you used the CD burning software, it is possible you used a program that named the tracks and the playlist (album) in a format on the CD that Itunes could later "read."

I've seen a few programs over the years that will do this.

But cerially, SSJ and the AD did a real nice spot on the season 1 dvd of sctv.

Here's an interesting experiment, try recreating the situation, see if you get the same results.

I think the CDDB uses the lengths of every track to calculate the most probably match from its database.

I must congratulate you on a perfect conversion from vinyl to CD.

(And don't be surprised at what CDDB has in its databases.)

Did you ever type the name of the artist and album (forget about tracks, etc.) when creating the CD?

You must've forgotten to change the drive train belt on the turntable from the last time somebody listened to LPs played backwards. This in turn communicated your intent to copy songs into digital format and fallen angels did the rest.

If upon further introspection, you still find no plausible explanation, I'd advance one area to seriously consider.

Some things such as what is described, are every once and a while, a tipoff of spiritual things or possibly a consequence of faith and the providence of God. If not by His hands, if you believe in Him and have faith in Him, then such an event fits is to His plan for you, regardless of what person may have been involved.

Lots of things like this occur daily, they are just frequently considered a mistaken notion or discarded as mistaken perception. If people placed more faith in God and truth continually, such events would provide more manifestation of His providence.

The CDDB probably has info for the songs you digitized.
iTunes and Win Media Player likely found this info quickly through an online search and then returned it to your PC.
This online function can actually be turned off for Win Media Player.

Though it may never have been released on CD, the album info is held within the CDDB database.

The results of my search at Gracenote (Formerly CDDB):

Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes / In The Heat

Track Title
1. Love Goes To War
2. New Romeo
3. Love Is The Drug
4. Captured
5. I Can't Live Without Love
6. Over My Head
7. Don't Look Back
8. Tell Me Lies
9. Action Speaks Louder Than Words
10. New Coat Of Pain

It was a long time ago that you made the CD? Did you simply enter the information in when you made the CD and forgot that you did it?

Audio recognition technology is used in all sorts of ways. Telemarketers can tell which television channel you are watching by using technology that listens to background audio during your telephone conversation.
