I have two processors--one Mac, one PC. The Mac is shiny and new, with a 1.x ghz processor. I thought it would be out-pacing my really old 533 mhz PC. But, no--they both have 400-frame Tinker units, and the PC processes Tinker in about 75% of the time it take the Mac to do a Tinker. Frustrating.
Interesting: My PC is doing Tinker P1152 for the 5th time. Why?
I read yesterday on the F@H forum that G3's and G4's run Tinkers at the speed of mud. I also have a G4 running a Tinker at 14% complete at 24 hours. Additionally, it's a dual processor so apparently F@H can only work one processor at a time, further cutting down on productivity. I was hoping to boost my output with this computer, but I guess not!
G5's apparently shouldn't have this problem. What's your computer?
I have noticed the same thing on my 3 PCs; they all seem to work on the same group of projects, but not the same groups.
I suspect that when a finished work unit is uploaded to a server, it is very likely that the next work unit will be assigned from the same server.
