The canned dog food is fine. I feel like I may have been a little harsh in my previous post, but I feel very strongly about feeding dogs good food. The good food is expensive because there's more actual nutrients in it than in the cheaper food.

Have you ever fed them Purina One? I used to feed mine that until I found Pro Plan. My dogs loved Purina One and it's a step up from Old Roy and Pedigree.

I "brush" my dogs' teeth every other day or so. What it amounts to is using a child's tooth brush on the bottom of their teeth at the gum line and rubbing the gums. Gum disease is a problem in older dogs, and the more plaque and bacteria you can get off the teeth and gums the better. My older dog actually LIKES to have his gums rubbed. It must feel good, because he stands there and lets me brush for as long as I want to.

Do you put anything on the toothbrush?I cant recall if I ever tried pro plan.I know I tried a bunch of different ones. And one last question. Is there any household meds I can give her safely? When she broke her leg we spent 1200 dollars to have rods put in.Not to count the many other instances. The leg was fine as that happened 6 years ago.I appreciate your help very much.Thank you.
