Do you put anything on the toothbrush?I cant recall if I ever tried pro plan.I know I tried a bunch of different ones. And one last question. Is there any household meds I can give her safely? When she broke her leg we spent 1200 dollars to have rods put in.Not to count the many other instances. The leg was fine as that happened 6 years ago.I appreciate your help very much.Thank you.

Pet stores have doggie toothpaste. It's not expensive. DON'T use human toothpaste, as it has something in it that can make dogs sick. YOu can give your dog aspirin at 10 mgs. per pound of dog. I have a six year old Bichon with joint problems, and I ordered "dog aspirin" from www.doctorsfosterandsmith.com. It's made for dogs, but you can give regular human aspirin as well; just don't go too far over the recomended dose of 10 mg./pound. So, a ten pound dog could take 100 mg, twice a day. Aspirin is good for pain and swelling.

I crush the aspirin and put it in his food, but he'll also take it if I put it on a small piece of cheese.

As you can tell, I baby my dogs, as you do yours. I make sure they get a good walk, a mile twice a day at a good clip. The exercise is good for me, as well.
