Coach Holmgren Apologizes to Tagliabue (Steeler/Seahawk Alert)
Free Republic ^ | 2/09/06 | self

Dear Mr. Tagliabue,

I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize to you and the league for my intemperate remarks at our ceremony at Qwest Field concerning the officiating during the Superbowl.

On Monday, just one short day after “losing” (oops) the game, I was still burned about the outcome, and I had consumed about a pound of bad jumbo shrimp for lunch, my stomach was churning, and it was just a bad day all around. I came home from Detroit, our cat was missing from the house, the Governor’s dog was hit by a car, and she was blaming me for that. Just real bad all around, Paul.

Paul, I was still stinging from calls that went against our team. It seemed like the bad calls were stacking up as high as the Space Needle.

I’ve always been known as a good and decent man in the community. Well, perhaps except for the time I borrowed my neighbor’s Rototiller to do that work on the Church rose garden .................. heck I didn’t see that rock ............. like I didn’t see that sneaky Steeler trick play coming. My neighbor told me he wouldn’t be using that Rototiller for a good long time, I thought he’d never noticed it was broken. Wosrt thing I ever did, Paul......... until now.

I feel as badly about my comment to the fans, “ "I didn't know we were going to have to play the guys in the striped shirts as well”, as I did about giving my neighbor back his mangled Rototiller. Come to think about it, that Rototiller was as busted as our defense on that Willie Parker blast right through our defense.

In closing, you must know that I’m still crushed about the loss and my words, but if you and the league are going to fine me for my perverse and untoward words, I ask you to please take into consideration that at least I didn’t refer to the officials as zebras. That should count for something.......................... and, Paul, am I off the competition committee?

Regards,

Mike Holmgren

Yes, the "Stealers" stole the game. They paid off the officials. The officials made sure all the calls went for the "Stealers" and against the Seahawks. The officials got their own special float in their Victory Parade. Super Bowl XL should have an asterisk (*) after it to denote that the "Stealers" were given the game by the officials. The NFL wanted the "Stealers" to win and made sure that they did. The stadium was unfairly packed with "Stealer" fans.

ROFLMAO. And where is the Lombardi Trophy for Super Bowl XL? In Pittsburgh, where it belongs.

Bwaaaaahaaahaaahaaa!

I thought referees needed to know how to spell "cat".

Listen to Yogi Berra. 'It ain't over, till its over'.

Well, its over FRiend and your team won. Congrats!

Mike Holmgren was upset with the way the game turned out and he made some very pointed public remarks about the Refs officiating. Many people agreed with his public outrage. Some may just agree with the Refs bad calls. Whatever. It's still a free country and all Americans have the right to voice their opinion on any matter they choose. Holmgren is no exception. I can't seem to convince you, you need to let go. Not letting go of this, will only eat away at you. Its not worth it. The Dems wouldn't let go after the Florida recall adn look whats happened to them. You're better then they are. Don't be meanspirited. Time to move along.

Ronald Reagan would KNOW, if he were alive, that my humorous thread was not intended as "meanspirited" as you claim. You never stop, do you.

So please ........... stop now, you only demean his name with your never-ending incorrect assertions.

This is not about "meanspirited" by me at all........ this is about a lack of class by the coach of Seattle on Monday.

Plain and simple.............. now please, Dutch, lay off.

"Cowher in bleachers: A day after winning his first Super Bowl, Pittsburgh coach Bill Cowher was just a fan in the stands. Cowher was at the North Allegheny (Pa.) High gym cheering on his daughters, Lauren and Lindsay, who play basketball for Fox Chapel" -----

****

Holmgren (veteran NFL coach) whining to the world that his team was ripped off by the officials.

Darn, did they also steal Holmgren's purse on his way off the field on Sunday night?

You've been pulling me into your arguments

Doesn't take much to pull you in, kid. You seem to need a little confrontation in your life. I say, get some exercise.

Hey, if you get to see the Pitt/WVU basketball game tonight it should be excellent.

I'm a Pitt man but WVU has a great team.
