"We're going to hurt somebody really, really bad next Sunday [in the Daytona 500]. We've got to find some way of calming this down."

w/Tony.

David Hoots & Mike Helton should outlaw Bump-Drafting at all times, with appropriate repeat-offender penalties, up to and including, yanking the miscreant's hard-card.

I think Tony just may have stepped into the role of speaking for the drivers. There was an article the other day wondering who would finally step into Earnhardt's shoes since it seems to be needed these days.

From what I saw the offenders were the younger drivers Kyle Busch and Vickers who were driving wildly. Edwards should not have passed below the yellow the first time, but he was wrongly penalized for the second run below the yellow to avoid the pitting cars. Penalties almost as bad as the NFL lately.

I hope Jr is right about them calming down when points racing starts next week. However, based on last years restrictor plate races I'm not sure. The bump draft is exciting to watch when the guys who know how and when to do it are racing. But the last few years seem to have changed in the way some of them will do anything to pass or block.

I'd go along with that if they got rid of the restrictor plates. It's all a game of momentum management with the plates.
